On the morning of April 13, at the yard of the Central Cultural House of Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province, the Central Emulation and Reward Council coordinated with the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to organize the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide from now until 2025.
The event was connected online to 62 provinces and cities nationwide. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council chaired the launching ceremony. Also attending were representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches.
Attending at Nghe An bridge were comrades: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, agencies and branches.
At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council, launched the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide. In which, the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in recent times was acknowledged and highly appreciated. However, there are still households living in temporary and dilapidated houses, concentrated in remote, border and island areas.
With the spirit of the entire people, comprehensively, joining hands for the poor, the Central Emulation and Reward Council coordinated with the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to launch the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide from now until 2025, striving to eliminate 170 thousand houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households affected by natural disasters.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested all levels and sectors to resolutely implement the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025; promote the resources of the State, people, society, enterprises, and the nation's elite traditions to have enough resources to successfully implement the set goals, ensuring no formalities, right targets, publicity, transparency, and effective use of resources.
The results of the review of poor and near-poor households in 2023 according to the multidimensional poverty standards for the period 2022-2025 nationwide in Decision No. 134/QD-BLDTBXH dated January 31, 2024 of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs show that the total number of poor and near-poor households with housing that does not meet the 3 requirements in terms of quality is 315,029 households (of which: poor households are 230,540 households; near-poor households are 84,489 households).
On behalf of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, read the Call for response to the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide. The implementation period is from April 2024 to 2025. Strive to basically eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change nationwide by 2025.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that this is a work of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the superiority of our regime; at the same time, once again affirming the spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance and support as a precious tradition, becoming a cultural beauty, the way of life of every Vietnamese person.
With the message "Millions of loving hearts - Thousands of happy homes", the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front calls on businesses, agencies, organizations, collectives, individuals, people of all walks of life, and those with meritorious services to contribute, those with little contribute little, those with much contribute much.
The general target is: Cadres, civil servants, public employees, soldiers of the armed forces, those receiving salaries from the state budget, each person contributes at least one day's salary each year; workers and laborers contribute at least one day's income each year; union members, youth, and teenagers save to help at least 50 thousand VND; each household with an average or higher standard of living contributes at least 100 thousand VND.
At the launching ceremony, agencies, units and enterprises registered to support the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" with an amount of more than 376 billion VND./.
