Petrolimex proactively ensures gasoline supply for the Lunar New Year 2025

On January 25, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade's working delegation led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan worked with the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) on ensuring the supply of petroleum and encouraging Petrolimex employees across the system to work throughout the Lunar New Year 2025.

Also joining the delegation were Mr. Bui Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), representatives of the General Department of Market Management, and the Hanoi Market Management Department.

On the Petrolimex side, there were Chairman of the Board of Directors Pham Van Thanh, General Director Dao Nam Hai, Deputy General Director Tran Ngoc Nam, Deputy General Director Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of Construction Company Zone 1 Hoang Van Binh and representatives of the Group's professional departments.

Proactively supply gasoline and oil for Tet

Reporting on the situation of ensuring sources for the Lunar New Year 2025, Petrolimex General Director Dao Nam Hai said that the Group has proactively created sources early and from afar. Since the end of 2024, the Group has negotiated long-term purchase contracts for 2025 with domestic and foreign suppliers. Up to now, the total volume of goods that Petrolimex has signed long-term contracts for 2025 is about 7.37 million m3, tons, equivalent to 70% of the Group's domestic sales output in 2024.

“Regarding the demand during the Lunar New Year 2025, from December 2024 to February 2025, the Group imported about 2.9 million m3/ton of gasoline, an increase of about 6% over the same period and an increase of 7% compared to the average for the whole year of 2024. Petrolimex ensures inventory reserves and fully meets the demand for gasoline consumption in its distribution system before - during - after the Lunar New Year", General Director Dao Nam Hai affirmed.

Overview of the working session

Along with the work of creating sources, to be proactive in all situations and avoid supply disruptions, Petrolimex has directed member units to develop scenarios and plans to ensure sources to respond when emergency situations arise.

In addition, the Group also requires strengthening the schedule of goods delivery at petroleum depots; closely following market developments to have appropriate plans when abnormalities arise.

Petrolimex has the main responsibility in supplying gasoline nationwide.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan praised Petrolimex's proactiveness in ensuring the supply of petroleum to meet people's consumption needs during Tet. The Deputy Minister requested the Group to continue its efforts and determination to complete its business targets and provide safe and sufficient petroleum not only during Tet but also throughout 2025.

“Looking back at 2024, the Group has successfully completed its production and business targets, actively contributing to state management activities and supplying petroleum to the people. Entering 2025, the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade fully believe that the Group will continue to successfully shoulder the key responsibility in supplying petroleum to the whole country,” Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan affirmed at the meeting.

Petrolimex Chairman Pham Van Thanh emphasized that the Group's core task every time Tet comes is to ensure the supply of petroleum to serve the production, business and consumption needs of the people. On behalf of the Group's leadership, the Chairman of the Petrolimex Board of Directors thanked the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and the working delegation for recognizing and appreciating the efforts of the Petrolimex system; at the same time, he gave detailed instructions, suggestions and orientations to help the Group continuously improve the efficiency of its source assurance work. Petrolimex is committed to seriously implementing the instructions of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, closely coordinating with relevant units to promptly remove difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks worthy of the stature of a major petroleum group.
