Mr. Vuong Tan Viet had his diplomas revoked after admitting to using an illegal high school diploma.

On the afternoon of October 22, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Head of the Postgraduate Training Department, Hanoi Law University - the person assigned by Hanoi Law University to speak about the incident related to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, said that after receiving the official dispatch from the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of October 21, Hanoi Law University has carried out legal procedures to cancel the training results and is revoking the degrees granted to Mr. Viet in accordance with the provisions of law.

Through the incident, Hanoi Law University held a meeting to review and evaluate the implementation of training regulations to continue improving the process, enhancing training quality and avoiding similar cases.

Also in the morning of the same day, a representative of Hanoi University said that Hanoi University is carrying out procedures to revoke the bachelor's degree in English from the distance learning program granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet.

Mr. Vuong Tan Viet studied English at the University of Foreign Languages ​​(now Hanoi University) from August 1994 to December 2000. The university degree was awarded to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet in early 2001.

The Ministry of Education and Training has determined that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet used an illegal high school diploma. Mr. Vuong Tan Viet also admitted this.

The Ministry of Education and Training has requested relevant higher education institutions to urgently revoke the diploma granted to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet according to the law, and at the same time review the training organization process to avoid similar cases.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training sent a document to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs to verify Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's high school diploma.

Accordingly, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's name was not on the list of candidates and the score sheet in the 1989 high school cultural supplementary graduation exam of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

At the same time, Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's name was not on the list of people awarded high school diplomas for the supplementary cultural course on June 6, 1989 by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.
