Vingroup Chairman and VinFast CEO Pham Nhat Vuong has just been voted by prestigious auto magazine MotorTrend (USA) as one of the 50 most influential people in the global auto industry in 2024.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is in the Top 50 most influential people in the global automobile industry, above Elon Musk.

The MotorTrend Power List is published annually by the American magazine, honoring people who have had a special influence on the global automobile industry. VinFast CEO Pham Nhat Vuong is on this powerful list, ranking higher than Tesla CEO Elon Musk in the Top 50.

According to the world's most prestigious and 70-year-old automobile magazine, VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, is rapidly expanding in the global market, including the highly competitive US market. Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong has clearly demonstrated his determination when taking on the role of CEO, promoting the production of a comprehensive range of electric vehicles and expanding the dealer network in the US as well as many countries around the world.

VinFast has also shown its global ambitions by building an electric vehicle factory in North Carolina (USA). In addition, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for a factory in Tamil Nadu (India) and announced plans to build a factory in Indonesia. "Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong has shown no signs that he wants to reduce his investment in electric vehicles," MotorTrend commented about Vingroup Chairman and CEO of VinFast.

Not only ranked above billionaire Elon Musk, VinFast CEO Pham Nhat Vuong is the only businessman from Southeast Asia on MotorTrend's "Power List".

According to the American automobile magazine, 2023 is a turbulent year for the global auto industry, as the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and disruptions in the supply chain continue. The high interest rate environment also strongly affects car buyers. Therefore, the electric vehicle industry also experiences many strong fluctuations.

MotorTrend believes that the Top 50 people on the “Power List” will have a major impact on changes in the global auto industry in 2023. The leader of the list is Mr. Shawn Fain, President of the United Auto Workers (UAW). The Top 50 people on the “Power List” also include BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, General Motor Chairman Mark Reuss....

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong will take on the position of General Director of VinFast from early 2024.

In 2023, VinFast delivered 34,855 electric cars and 72,468 electric motorbikes. The company achieved full-year revenue of VND28,596 billion (US$1.198 billion), up 91% compared to 2022. In 2024, VinFast aims to deliver 100,000 vehicles and expand its sales network to 400 points of sale globally, including 130 points in the North American market.

The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer also said that after laying the foundation in markets such as the US, Canada and some European countries, VinFast's global expansion plan in 2024 will focus on other global markets, including potential markets near Vietnam such as Indonesia and India.
