One UI 7 is the next major software update from the South Korean company. It comes with a redesign of Samsung's interface on Android. It is said to feature an improved Quick Settings panel separate from the notification bar, rounder corners in the UI, and new icons for Samsung apps.
The software was expected to launch a few months ago. However, it was delayed for a number of reasons. Today, the One UI 7 beta has been released and Galaxy S24 users can now sign up through Samsung Members.
Once accepted, users will receive a notification to update their phone and start testing the new features, tools, and design changes the company has been developing over the past year.
Some of the new features of One UI 7 include:
Look Now: a new interactive "Now Bar" will appear at the bottom of the lock screen whenever there is a background task, when tapping the Now Bar it will expand to show more easy-to-see information.
Camera Ready: users can switch between camera buttons, controls and selected modes from the preview screen.
Expanded Writing Tools: AI summarization and formatting tools can now work without switching between apps.
Call Transcript: allows you to create a call recording and save it to your device when the call recording feature is enabled.
Currently, users who own new phones such as Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will have the opportunity to experience One UI 7 beta.
