Although for 2 months, 19-year-old Tieu Linh (Zhejiang, China) continuously felt tired, had a hoarse voice, and lost a little weight, but because of her youth, the girl subjectively refused to go to the doctor.

When she was tired for a long time and could not control her work, she went to the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Zhejiang, China) for examination. After examination, ultrasound and tests, the doctor diagnosed the girl with thyroid cancer .

While examining the patient, the doctor said that because the patient was still very young, the size of the neck area had increased significantly but perhaps because of his plump body, it was not noticed. After examination, the doctors discovered a 1.9cm thyroid tumor. Fortunately, it was detected early and the patient was still young, so the surgery to remove the thyroid tumor went very smoothly.

Talking to the doctor, the girl admitted that she often stayed up late for long periods of time. Although she knew staying up late was not good, staying up too much became a habit that was hard to break.

Explaining this, the doctor said that thyroid diseases are closely related to the body's resistance and hormonal balance. Meanwhile, staying up late disrupts the biological clock, disrupts hormones and thereby stimulates the thyroid gland, leading to a series of thyroid diseases.

Night time is also the time when the body's organs need to rest and recover. If you stay up late for a long time, their activity will decrease, and the immune system will also weaken and increase the risk of infection - the leading factor causing disease and cancer .

How does staying up late destroy the body?

Staying up late affects the immune system

During sleep, especially between 12am and 4am, the body secretes hormones necessary to maintain the body's immune system.

Staying up late regularly will cause the above hormones to be lacking or completely cut off if you stay up until morning. Therefore, people who stay up late regularly are more susceptible to diseases such as flu and allergies than people who get enough sleep.

Staying up late causes memory loss

Sleep is the time for your brain to rest and remember the activities that happened that day. When you stay up late, you are increasing the amount of information you need to remember while reducing the time your brain has to rest.

The rate of memory loss in people who have the habit of staying up late is therefore 5 times higher than normal people. So remember to make sure your brain gets enough 8 hours of rest every day.

Staying up late is harmful to the digestive system.

Stomach mucosa cells regenerate and repair themselves at night while you sleep. Staying up late prevents these cells from resting, leading to weakness.

Moreover, staying up late causes gastric juice to be secreted more, corroding the stomach leading to ulcers if this condition persists.

Staying up late makes skin age faster

At night, skin cells regenerate faster than during the day. Staying up late will cause irregular regulation of skin cells, affecting the function of the epidermis. This causes premature aging of the skin, dullness, wrinkles, etc.

To keep your skin young and beautiful, you (especially women) should make a habit of going to bed early and getting enough sleep.

Staying up late can easily reduce eyesight.

Similar to the above parts, night time is the time for the eyes to rest and adjust after a day of continuous activity. Staying up late not only cuts off the eyes' rest time but also forces the eyes to work in an environment lacking natural light.

Staying up late regularly can easily lead to impaired vision, eye pain, eye fatigue, dark circles, myopia, astigmatism, etc.
