From a private enterprise with a small initial capital, up to now, we have established Thinh Mien Trung Material Technology Co., Ltd. with a total investment of nearly 12 billion VND, continuing to invest in phase 2 with nearly 10 billion VND more. Each year, the company's revenue from sales is estimated at nearly 20 billion VND and has been increasing continuously over the years. I actively participated in exhibitions, displays, and product introductions in many localities as well as continuously established and expanded sales networks on e-commerce platforms. From there, foreign businesses began to know about Bao Linh Coconut Cake, then they contacted, visited the facility, inspected the quality and signed contracts for me to export. Dozens of containers of Bao Linh Coconut Cake have been present in major countries, which is the process of me continuously upgrading production technology and business strategy.

Startups in Quang Nam are really spreading, at least the movement of developing production and business is being implemented by many people with new and creative ways.

At this time, many start-up projects have disappeared and only about 30% of projects survive after 3 years. And 20% of them become businesses or convert to models similar to cooperatives. It is said that despite the difficult economic situation and many large businesses struggling, start-ups in Quang Nam are still able to survive, proving that they are on the right track.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the innovative startup ecosystem in Vietnam has gone through two investment waves and three development stages, marking a record of receiving investment of up to 1.4 billion USD in 2021. Currently, the Ministry of Science and Technology is coordinating with ministries, branches and localities to promote Vietnamese innovative startup activities to the integration stage.
Currently, Vietnam has more than 3,000 startups; more than 140 universities and research institutes organizing startup and innovation activities with incubators, centers and startup support clubs. The Ministry of Science and Technology believes that the ecosystems in localities such as Da Nang, Hai Phong, Quang Nam, Nghe An, Binh Duong... have great development potential and need to be focused on with the goal of increasing the quantity and quality of creative startups, improving the business environment, and entering the top creative startup ecosystems globally. Ms. Do Duong Thi Dong Phuong - Director of Green Asparagus Company Limited in Central Vietnam (Dien Ban town) said that the unit had previously piloted asparagus cultivation on Dien Quang land and was highly appreciated for its productivity and quality. Therefore, the company has a strategy to produce Go Noi asparagus canned water based on the available raw materials in the locality.

Although the government agreed to lease 2 hectares of land, the lease period was only 3 years, so the company could not invest in growing asparagus and had to purchase raw materials from other localities.
Not being able to proactively source raw materials has caused great obstacles to our production and business development plans, especially reducing production costs. Therefore, I hope to lease land long-term, from 20 years, so that I can boldly invest in facilities and raw material areas.

Also wishing to rent land, Mr. Ngo Trong Hoang - Director of Go Noi High-Tech Livestock Cooperative said that his unit started implementing the 3B cow model in Dien Quang commune (Dien Ban town) since 2019, with a herd size of 500 - 600 cows on an area of 2 hectares. Each year, the cooperative supplies the market with 350 - 500 beef cows and 800 - 1,000 breeding cows.
Although the output market is quite stable, this cooperative still cannot expand the scale of the herd. “Recently, we have drafted the Go Noi Cow Market and Flood-Proof Barn Project and proposed to the People's Committee of Dien Ban town to lease an additional 3 hectares of land adjacent to the cooperative's existing farm.
Because Go Noi is an area that is constantly flooded during the rainy season, the cows have to be dispersed at this time, greatly affecting the productivity of the cooperative, so investing in upgrading the barn is extremely necessary. The project will double the total size of the farm's herd to more than 1,000 cows," said Mr. Hoang.
The cooperative estimates the project of the cow market and flood-proof barn with a total investment of nearly 5 billion VND. We are ready to invest, waiting for Dien Ban town to agree on the land lease policy to boldly implement.

According to Mr. Hoang, it is estimated that there are nearly 20,000 cows in the Go Noi area. The people have a long tradition of raising cows, creating a brand that attracts the attention of many traders and businesses across the country.
However, the current buying and selling is still fragmented and small-scale. Depending on the actual situation of each household, traders offer relatively low prices, affecting the income of livestock farmers. Therefore, the "Go Noi Cow Market" project, if implemented, will solve the above problems, creating a professional environment for buying and selling, public and fair prices.
In the context of general difficulties of the whole economy, digital transformation is considered a solution to help optimize management, production, and business activities, creating a foundation and competitive advantage in the next stage of development.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Thuy - Director of Ba Ba Hoi Cooperative said that digital transformation created a major turning point in business, helping Ba Ba Hoi Agricultural and Food Processing Cooperative (Tan Thanh Ward, Tam Ky City) increase its revenue by 30% each year. The trend of customers shopping on e-commerce platforms and through applications is increasing, the cooperative must change its business methods and promote digital transformation.

Quang Nam aims to have at least 1,000 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in need of digital transformation participating in seminars, training courses, and workshops to raise awareness and connect with businesses providing digital transformation platforms by 2025. About 40% of businesses will apply e-commerce and 50% of businesses will have their own websites to promote their brands and products.
However, digital transformation still poses many challenges for businesses, especially startups in Quang Nam. The risk is high when startups have to develop products and markets at the same time.
Startups need to access digital capacity building activities. The focus remains on the ability to apply modern science and technology in production, business, management, monitoring of product origin and supply chains, as well as connecting e-commerce, promoting and consuming agricultural products on digital platforms.
Mr. Ho Quang Buu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the locality will support cooperatives, small and medium enterprises, especially creative start-up projects in implementing digital transformation. This aims to improve production and business efficiency, enhance capacity and competitive advantage, create new values for enterprises, and contribute to the development of the digital economy in the province.
“Quang Nam will promote propaganda to raise awareness of digital transformation of enterprises, deploy training courses on digital transformation for enterprises and the startup community. Organize specialized training according to scale, stage, field, and specific digital transformation platform. Along with that, Quang Nam province will search, evaluate, and select potential enterprises, prioritizing the fields of production, processing, agriculture, tourism, etc. to support digital transformation” - Mr. Buu emphasized.

In the past, training programs related to economic development often focused on a certain group of subjects, but now, larger-scale training programs for entities and start-up businesses have begun to appear. Courses on how to build online marketing strategies, sales skills, business management from exploiting human resources capacity... attract a lot of participants.

Mr. Pham Phu Hien - Chairman of Tam Ky City Creative Startup Association said that since its establishment, besides communication, training activities have been almost the main program that the unit has continuously implemented over the years.
With the strength of being the provincial capital city of the province, connecting many experts across the country, Tam Ky City Creative Startup Association organizes training programs on necessary skills for startups, small and medium-sized enterprises related to the fields of administration, operations, marketing, sales, finance,...
Even during the social distancing period due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this unit also organized an online training program for businesses. In each program, a relatively large number of business owners registered to attend, some programs lasted 2-3 days but many businesses still participated fully.

“In the Executive Committee meetings, the issue of choosing a training program was discussed and selected quite enthusiastically by the members of the association. Some wanted to learn this, others found that more suitable, because of limited financial conditions, everyone wanted a quality training program that brought high value to the startup community. Although Tam Ky organized it, businesses in Hoi An, Phu Ninh, Thang Binh, and Nui Thanh also actively participated. This proves that the need for learning among our brothers is very large,” Mr. Hien informed.
Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - member of the National Innovation and Startup Advisory Board, said that as an expert in training to improve the capacity of businesses and business owners, before the projects on startup support were issued, he was only invited to train large corporations and companies.

However, in recent years, startups have begun to pay attention to supplementing their knowledge and upgrading their skills. In addition to participating in programs organized by creative startup associations at the district level, Mr. Quoc is invited to each startup project, implementing 1-1 training methods with the subjects of the startup projects.
“There are projects that are initially very simple, have a small market or projects with very high revenue but do not see profits... After being trained and honed their skills, they have changed significantly. They are more confident in their products and business models, expanding their production scale and bringing their products further. It can be said that starting a business is a journey of accumulating many lessons, but if equipped with the necessary skills in advance, the project will reduce risks. Fortunately, startups in Quang Nam have been and are very interested in this issue,” said Mr. Quoc.
MANY ACTIVITIES AT THE 5TH QUANG NAM PROVINCE CREATIVE STARTUP WEEK - TECHFEST QUANG NAM 2024”
With the theme “Intellectual property and digital technology - Creative startup platform”, TechFest Quang Nam 2024 event has been upgraded from a festival like previous years to Quang Nam Creative Startup Week, scheduled to take place from May 14 to 18.
This is a national and international activity to realize the startup projects of the Government and the province, develop startup culture, promote the spirit of self-reliance, entrepreneurship, creative startups, aspirations to rise up, contributing to serving socio-economic development.
