Warm and affectionate homes

The agencies and organizations of Cam Pha City and Cam Trung Ward visited and encouraged Nguyen Thi Len and her husband to move into their new home and stabilize their lives.

The province directs functional departments, branches and localities to mobilize the combined strength and all social resources, the participation of the entire political system, agencies, units, localities, business communities and people from all walks of life to join hands to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary housing and dilapidated housing; promote the responsibility of all levels, branches, the participation and assistance of the community and families in supporting households to improve their housing.

From 2023 to present, implementing the program to eliminate temporary housing and dilapidated housing, Cam Pha City has 114 households supported to build new and repair houses, with a total support budget of 6.96 billion VND. With enthusiasm and responsibility, the local Party Committee and government have promoted their full capacity, proactively and flexibly, with the cooperation and contribution of organizations, groups and individuals in the area, contributing to the households eligible for housing support to have a place to settle down, find work and improve their lives.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Len (Group 6, Area 2A, Cam Trung Ward, Cam Pha City) shared: "I am very touched by the attention and support from all levels, sectors, and neighbors. My family's house, which has been degraded for many years, has now been rebuilt and is safe. My husband and I can work with peace of mind and have a stable life."

In 2024, Binh Lieu district has 13 households supported to build houses, thereby   provide more motivation for households to strive to escape poverty, build a prosperous and stable life, gradually improve and enhance people's lives, build and consolidate the great national unity bloc . Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Lieu district, said: During the implementation process, the district has developed a specific plan for each household, with progress for each week and each month, easy tasks first, difficult tasks later. Along with that, propaganda and mobilization for poor households to consciously strive to rise up, gradually improve their living standards, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction in the locality.

In 2023, the province completed the elimination of 441 temporary houses and newly-emerged dilapidated houses in the area (built 260 new houses, repaired 181 houses), with a mobilized amount of VND 37.4 billion. In 2024, the "For the Poor" Fund and social mobilization sources of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province supported the construction of 86 new houses, repaired 60 houses, and 33 hygienic toilets, with a total cost of over VND 11,402 billion.

According to the review by the authorities, currently in the province, 7/13 localities have 135 poor and near-poor households that need support to eliminate temporary housing and dilapidated housing (112 new houses, 23 houses repaired). In addition, regarding housing support for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs, the Department of Construction has also compiled and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the Housing Support Project for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs in the area in 2025.

The province has assigned Party Secretaries and Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to take full responsibility for leading, directing, organizing the review and identification of subjects; organizing the implementation of the goal of eliminating temporary housing and dilapidated housing in the areas under their management, ensuring that the right subjects receive support. The People's Committees of localities are mobilizing resources to support households; the plan is expected to be completed before October 30, 2025. Quang Ninh aims to strive to eliminate 100% of newly-emerged temporary housing and dilapidated housing for the poor, near-poor and families of people with meritorious services to the revolution who are facing housing difficulties, and whose houses are in need of repair or new construction in the province by the end of 2025.
