Metro Line 1 is 19.7 km long with a total investment of more than 43,700 billion VND, running from Ben Thanh Station (District 1) to Long Binh Depot (Thu Duc City), with 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations.

The train has undergone several short-distance and full-distance test runs. 15 trains run continuously from morning to night with the lowest frequency of about 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

Each ship has a maximum capacity of 930 passengers, equivalent to the expected load when officially put into operation.

When metro line 1 begins commercial operation, Ho Chi Minh City will support 100% of ticket prices for people. At the same time, the city will implement many policies to support ticket prices for groups such as meritorious people, children, pupils and students.

The train route is about 40 km long (from Ben Thanh to Suoi Tien and vice versa), passing through 14 stations, including 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations.

Metro Line 1 in the first phase of operation will have a total of 17 trains (of which 14 are in operation and 3 are on reserve). Each train is 61.5m long and consists of 3 cars connected together, with a maximum capacity of 930 passengers for a 3-car train.

At each station, trains will stop for 30 seconds and the platform barrier system will open automatically.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board said that metro line No. 1 had officially started trial operation after a period of theoretical and practical training for Vietnamese employees (belonging to HURC1 Company).

Operation with 47 scenarios, from normal operation to emergency situations such as fire, explosion, power outage, flooding, signal loss, at different locations along metro line 1 (including in tunnels).

Before the trial operation, the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board completed signing agreements with the Hitachi contractor and construction contractors on the use of training and trial operation equipment.

The project has 11 elevated stations running along Hanoi - Vo Nguyen Giap Highway, down to 3 underground stations in the city center.

The metro line running through the new Eastern Bus Station is about to enter Long Binh Depot (District 9).

Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien is operational, promising to become the backbone transport route connecting the city center with the eastern gateway area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City. With the final station located near the new Eastern Bus Station, passengers from the center can completely use the metro to get here.

After the operation period, the trains will be gathered at Long Binh depot (Thu Duc city). This is where inspection, repair and maintenance activities will take place to ensure that the trains are always in good condition and ready to serve passengers.

The Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board said that Metro Line 1 has completed 100% of its construction volume. The remaining work is still being focused on to keep the official launch date on December 22.
