In 2023, Ha Tinh tourism industry really flourished when attracting over 3.36 million visitors and vacationers, more than double that of the same period last year.

Hai Thuong Eco-tourism Area (Huong Son) received the award "Asia's Leading Eco-Cultural Tourism Destination 2023" at the 6th ASIA International Economic Forum.

Statistics from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism show that in 2023, the total number of visitors to tourist areas and spots across the province will reach 3.36 million (1.6 million in 2022), exceeding 34% of the plan set at the beginning of the year.

In particular, the number of overnight guests reached 912,312 (domestic guests 897,651, international guests 14,661), nearly 3 times higher than in 2022. This index shows a clear growth in tourism service development activities. In addition to objective reasons such as difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic being pushed back, the stable social situation, favorable weather... the drastic participation of all levels, sectors and localities in stimulating tourism development is a decisive factor in that achievement.

The opening ceremony of Huong Tich Pagoda Festival to kick off the 2023 tourism year has created a positive effect to promote tourism activities.

Since the end of 2022, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised the Provincial People's Committee to implement many plans and actions. Specifically, the Department has coordinated with the People's Committees of Can Loc, Huong Son and Ky Anh districts to organize traditional festivals in the area. In particular, since March 2023, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities to organize early opening of sea tourism. Accordingly, along with the opening ceremony of Ha Tinh sea tourism in 2023, in mid-April, at Xuan Thanh Tourist Area (Nghi Xuan), many units such as Cam Xuyen, Nghi Xuan, Thach Ha, Ky Anh district, Loc Ha... have proactively organized the opening ceremony of local sea tourism.

With many exciting and attractive cultural activities and sports tournaments, the opening ceremonies of sea tourism have attracted tens of thousands of visitors. During the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also coordinated to organize many competitions and contests to improve the skills of the staff and promote the image such as: Provincial Hotel Reception Competition 2023, Contest "Beautiful photos and impressive video clips about Ha Tinh tourism in 2023"...

With additional investment in modern accommodation facilities at Thien Cam Tourist Area, in 2023, Cam Xuyen attracted more than 1.17 million visitors and vacationers.

Mr. Bui Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of Nghi Xuan District People's Committee said: "At the beginning of the 2023 tourist season, along with directing tourist areas and spots to upgrade facilities, increase products..., we have developed a plan to organize many large-scale, continuous events and festivals to promote the image and attract tourists.

Highlights include: Nguyen Du Cultural Week associated with the opening of Xuan Thanh beach tourism in 2023, including many activities lasting from the beginning of April to the end of August 2023; the 245th anniversary of the birth and the 165th anniversary of the death of the famous person Nguyen Cong Tru with a special art program and the Nghi Xuan 2023 Half Marathon... Thanks to that, Nghi Xuan's tourism activities are bustling, attracting a large number of tourists.

The Half Marathon - Nghi Xuan 2023 attracts 1,400 athletes from all over the country and abroad, contributing to promoting Nghi Xuan tourism.

In many tourist areas and spots, businesses have boldly invested in building a system of hotels and restaurants, creating more attractive tourism products. Notably, Thien Cam tourist area (Cam Xuyen) has a 4-star Hai Au hotel and services: Beach Club, squid fishing tour to explore Thien Cam beach at night; Quynh Vien eco-tourism area (Thach Hai, Thach Ha) has a product to explore the rocky cape and Nam Gioi mountain lighthouse; Phu Minh Gia tourist spot (Cuong Gian, Nghi Xuan) has the experience of pulling a fishing net to catch seafood with fishermen... In particular, with many innovations and creativity, Hai Thuong eco-tourism area (Huong Son) was honored as "Asia's Leading Eco-Cultural Tourism Destination 2023" at the ASIA International Economic Forum and the announcement and award ceremony of "Asia Award 2023".

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Vu - Executive Director of Quynh Vien Eco-tourism Area said: “Thanks to the province's general stimulus policies, the unit has made efforts to innovate and be creative in attracting tourists. As a result, the facility has welcomed 50,000 visitors, an increase of 38% over the same period in 2022. This is the motivation for us to be able to take new steps in our long-term development plan”.

Promoting the achieved results and carefully preparing plans, the Ha Tinh tourism industry has set high expectations for success in 2024 with the target of 4 million visitors, of which domestic visitors will reach 1.3 million and international visitors will reach 20,000.
