On April 12, the Provincial Union of Science Associations held a workshop to consult and review the draft project and draft resolution on rapid and sustainable development of the marine economy of Quang Ninh province until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Attending the workshop were experts, members of the review council, and relevant departments and branches.
The draft project and draft resolution on rapid and sustainable development of Quang Ninh province's marine economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045, set a target of over 14% growth in the marine and coastal economy by 2025, contributing to the realization of the province's GRDP growth target of 14% with the motto "Breakthrough in economic development, creating momentum for the new term".
The average growth rate of the marine and coastal economy will reach 10% or more in the period 2026-2030; by 2030, the purely marine economy will account for about 25% of GRDP; the marine and coastal economy will account for about 85% of GRDP, coastal localities will contribute over 90% of the provincial budget; urban areas, economic zones, and coastal industrial zones will be built according to the plan; and dynamic economic clusters will be formed to act as poles for marine economic development.
Experts attending the workshop assessed: The project was elaborately developed with contents suitable to the situation of Quang Ninh province. At the same time, they contributed practical opinions, raised a number of issues that need to be supplemented and clarified, such as: It is necessary to focus on providing many solutions to implement the project to ensure rapid, sustainable and effective development of the marine economy based on the foundation of green development and the typical marine culture of the locality; it is necessary to clearly identify the driving forces for the development of the marine economy of Quang Ninh; research on the application of science and technology, digital transformation to develop the marine economy...
The opinions at the workshop were received by relevant units to continue building and perfecting the project and resolution.
