Experience the culture of the land of martial arts
The demand for cultural tourism is gradually attracting many tourists, especially foreign tourists. In addition to visiting scenic spots, historical and cultural relics, tourists can also experience the traditional culture of the land of Vo at craft villages and destinations.
For nearly 2 years now, at house number 13 Dang Van Ngu (Quy Nhon City), many tourists have come to experience and learn about the cultural beauty of Binh Dinh through activities such as making conical hats, performing martial arts to nourish the mind and body, singing folk songs, drawing opera masks, kneading clay to make pottery...
Tourists can see the stages of making Go Gang conical hats, such as: stretching leaves, whittling bamboo strips, spreading leaves, tying leaves, weaving hats, cracking hats; admire the hats of the traditional craft village of Phu Gia horse-hats in Cat Tuong commune (Phu Cat district) which has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage; hand-paint opera masks and scenic spots of Binh Dinh on beautiful conical hats; watch traditional Binh Dinh martial arts dance, watch artisans paint opera masks...

Mr. Tran Ngoc Van, Chairman of Binh Dinh Face Art Club - the person who came up with the idea and implemented this experience model, said: Visitors come here to experience it completely free of charge, if they are happy, they can give a small gift to the artisans. Since implementing the model, many tourists, especially foreign tourists from Belgium, Korea, Germany, France... have come here to experience it. Let me reiterate, we implemented this model only with the purpose of promoting the cultural heritage of Binh Dinh.
Ms. Susance Annette (a tourist from Germany) happily said: “I am very happy to understand more about the cultural identity of Binh Dinh. But being able to immerse myself in the warm and friendly atmosphere with the artisans is also very special to me. The first time I held a needle to sew a conical hat, I felt both strange and excited. These were wonderful experiences when I came to Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh. If I have the chance, I will return to Binh Dinh to explore more.”

Nhon Hau Commune (An Nhon Town) is gradually implementing community tourism activities to exploit the potential and advantages of scenic spots, relics, and traditional craft villages. Coming here, tourists not only visit historical and cultural relics such as Canh Tien Tower, Nhan Son Pagoda, Hoang De Citadel, etc., but also have many interesting experiences when visiting craft villages making pottery, vermicelli, and fine art wood carving.
Mr. Tran Van Tien Hung, owner of a wood carving craft in Van Son village, Nhon Hau commune, shared: “In recent years, local craft villages have often welcomed many groups of students and tourists to visit. Many tourists are very excited to hear artisans tell stories about the craft and experience making simple products. In this way, villagers also have more opportunities to promote the beauty of the craft village and increase their income by selling souvenirs to tourists.”
