On June 30, Hai Phong City People's Committee and Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports held a conference to review the Television Stage program in the first 6 months of the year and deploy work for the last 6 months of 2024.

At the event, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports - said that Hai Phong Television Stage has entered its 4th year of serving the audience.
Every Saturday and Sunday evening, there will be art programs, academic, classic, and unique plays from the world and Vietnam in many art forms performed by the city's art units.
Ms. Mai commented that this is the impetus, foundation, and lever for the remarkable development of professional qualifications for artists and actors in Hai Phong. In all types of stage art, Hai Phong has "golden" generations of actors, playing a core and leading role in ensuring the quality of each work.
"In the first year, the art units were still confused and took a lot of time to create the works, but the artists still explored and tried to do their jobs. Besides, thanks to the help of People's Artists, Meritorious Artists, artists nationwide, and leaders at all levels, the units have had many unique and good plays in the past time," said Ms. Hoang Mai.
Accordingly, in the first 6 months of this year, the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports has implemented 6 programs and plays in 5 art forms including: Cheo play Xuan Huong female scholar , Cai luong play Hao kiet voi giang son , spoken drama Macbet , song and dance program Ngo Thuy Mien - Nguoi viet tinh ca , puppet show Tre Coc tranh con , musical play Bi vo ...
The plays were staged and invested in elaborate scenery, props, costumes, music arrangements, sound, and lighting, leaving many impressions on the audience.
Recently, art units in Hai Phong have always had many works that won high awards such as: Hai Phong Drama Troupe has won consecutive gold and silver medals at the Festivals. At the 2023 National Cai Luong Festival in Bac Lieu, Hai Phong Cai Luong Troupe won the gold medal for the first time.
At the 2024 Children's Theatre Festival, the Hai Phong Puppetry Troupe won the gold medal for the first time. In addition, at the 2023 National Cheo Festival, the Hai Phong Cheo Troupe also won the gold medal, regaining its leading position in the "Eastern Cheo".

Musician Do Hong Quan - Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations - affirmed that the Hai Phong Television Stage program is consistent and long-term, not "measuring". Mr. Quan sees that the quality of artists in Hai Phong is progressing very quickly, with professionalism and very professional performance techniques.
Musician Do Hong Quan said: "Musician Duc Trinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association - and I have been to Hai Phong many times and told representatives of the Hai Phong Department of Culture and Sports that there should be a project to turn Hai Phong into a city of music. We also hope that Hai Phong will have a modern theater with sound structure and large enough seating to become a familiar address for artists nationwide.
At that time, we can call Hai Phong "The City of Red Flamboyant Flowers of Music" - a "very suggestive" name. There, we will organize festivals, music competitions or invite world symphony orchestras to perform. Because music has no borders, when listening to music, people will have a connection from the heart...".
People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui - President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association - said that maintaining and strongly developing the Television Stage project is the way for Hai Phong to maintain, preserve and promote the values of traditional cultural and artistic forms, improve people's level of art appreciation, and ensure social security policies.
"Through the plays, hundreds of artists and actors have "awakened" the public's love for the performing arts. Last year, a number of art units in Hai Phong were also invited to perform abroad, or participated in festivals and won high prizes. These are proofs of the efforts of artists here.
The stage lights up, meaning that literary and artistic works are extended in stage scripts. This is a very meaningful thing, carrying many cultural values...", People's Artist Thuy Mui said.
Talking about the significance of the TV Stage program in Hai Phong, People's Artist Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of the Vietnam Puppetry Theater - said that in recent times, Hai Phong artists have had the opportunity to demonstrate their responsibility, passion, and dedication to art, while the audience has enjoyed professional art.
Artist Tien Dung, although not from Hai Phong, always considers this his second home because he has been with the Television Stage since the first episodes and has many beautiful memories here.
"Many people say that Hai Phong has investment resources in theater, but is it a waste to have plays performed only once? I think it's not a waste, because the numbers can be calculated, but money can't buy artistic value.
Every year, artists and creative people find themselves more mature, but they still have to try and learn from experience to create even better works...", Mr. Dung said.
