According to tourism industry statistics, in 2024, the number of tourists to Quang Ninh will reach 19 million, equal to 122% compared to 2023. Total tourism revenue will reach 46,552 billion VND, equal to 139% compared to 2023. Quang Ninh aims to attract 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors; total revenue from tourism activities is 50,000 billion VND.

"The number of visitors to the port is quite low, possibly because the New Year holiday is only one day and is quite close to the upcoming long Lunar New Year holiday. Moreover, this is also the time when students are taking their final exams, so it is difficult for families to arrange time to go out. The weather in Nha Trang has been rainy for a long time, not favorable for island tours, so tourists may switch to other types of tourism," said Mr. Phu.

Arriving in Nha Trang on the afternoon of December 31, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thang (a tourist from Hanoi) and his wife were very excited to enjoy the unique music party at the countdown event and the fireworks display to welcome the new year of the coastal city for the first time. "Today, my wife and I plan to visit tourist attractions in the city such as pagodas, the Oceanographic Museum, and in the evening, go to the night markets and Dam Market to enjoy Nha Trang cuisine. Tomorrow, we will choose an island tour to explore new things," said Mr. Thang.

According to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa during the 2025 New Year holiday is estimated at about 25,000, with the average room occupancy rate from December 31, 2024 to January 1, 2025 reaching about 60%. The occupancy rate of 3-5 star hotels in the center of Nha Trang city is about 80-90%, and 4-5 star resorts in coastal areas have an occupancy rate of over 80%.
