Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the construction site of Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport on August 10 and praised the efforts of investor ACV and contractors in the consortium.

Terminal T3 has a soft curved roof that stretches from the station to the central garden of the commercial and office complex, reminiscent of the soft lines of the Vietnamese ao dai, symbolizing grace and elegance.

The alternating layers of roofs create a variety of viewing angles, while also bringing natural light into the station.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the highlight of Terminal T3 is the commercial - office complex designed towards green architecture, integrating natural elements and landscape, creating a friendly environment.

Passengers arriving at the airport are greeted by rows of trees along the main road, forming a green corridor connecting to the city.

The building is designed with natural ventilation and skylights, combined with green areas from landscape areas, parks, sky squares, decorative lakes, and green walls, creating a harmonious connection with nature.

Keep up the fast construction momentum

With the goal of putting the project into operation before April 30, 2025, the investor of the T3 passenger terminal project at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the consortium of contractors are constantly striving and continuously launching competitions to exceed the schedule.

The design of T3 terminal from the outside in is green, creating an environmentally friendly feeling.

In late August, according to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, the construction atmosphere at the T3 terminal site was very urgent. The construction and installation package for the passenger terminal, although under construction for less than a year, has continuously exceeded the schedule.

From inside the airport parking lot, the massive 4-storey terminal can be seen. The joint venture of contractors are all well-known names in the construction and electromechanical industry, including: Hanoi Construction Corporation, Construction Corporation No. 1, Corporation 319 (Ministry of National Defense), Truong Son Construction Corporation, Ricons Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, and Luu Nguyen Construction Company Limited.

At the construction site, thousands of engineers and workers are working hard. Immediately after completing the reinforced concrete structure, the joint contractor quickly installed cranes from 100-600 tons to construct the roof steel.

Mr. Dau Van Dien, General Director of Hanoi Construction Corporation (HAN Corp), representative of the contractor consortium, said that the station's steel structure is expected to be completed in October 2024, shortening the schedule by 37 days.

Roofing installation will be completed in February 2025, 17 days shorter. Mechanical and electrical installation will be completed in March 2025, 33 days shorter. Equipment installation and operation will be completed on April 22, 2025, 2 months shorter.

"All targets have been committed by the contractor consortium when the investor launched the competition to exceed the schedule," said Mr. Dien.

Working through holidays and Tet

Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Director of the Project Management Board, shared that the initial construction process encountered many difficulties and obstacles because the T3 terminal construction package was adjacent to the transportation packages. The organization of the site, service roads, and material staging areas had to be continuously optimized.

Workers are working hard to build the roof of terminal T3.

With the spirit of "not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships", the Project Management Board and the joint contractor have proactively proposed effective solutions to overcome arising situations. Up to now, all basic difficulties and problems have been resolved.

According to Mr. Le Khac Hong, Head of the project management board, the current output value is 5,880 billion VND, accounting for 54.3% of the total output. The total disbursement value is 3,759 billion VND, accounting for 34.7% of the total value. The construction of Terminal T3 has been organized continuously since the beginning of construction, throughout Tet, holidays, and Saturdays and Sundays.

Expressing satisfaction with the project's progress, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended relevant units, investor ACV, and contractors in the consortium during the inspection on August 10.

To achieve the goal of ensuring quality and putting the project into operation on April 30, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Prime Minister requested ACV to focus on human resources of the investor, consultants, contractors, and coordinate with relevant agencies to continue to speed up the project's progress.

Passenger terminal T3 has a scale of one basement and four floors above ground, with a total floor area of 112,500m2.

It is expected that after completion, this will be a domestic passenger terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, serving 7,000 passengers/peak hour.

The project is being implemented simultaneously with the connecting road expansion projects invested by Ho Chi Minh City.
