(Fatherland) - People's Artist Han Van Hai - Director of Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater is one of 78 typical advanced models honored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the Conference to honor typical advanced models in the national cultural field in 2023. He is one of the artists who is very dedicated, actively preserving and promoting traditional arts, in which Thanh Cheo art with its own unique features is always recognized and highly appreciated at professional performances nationwide.

According to People's Artist Han Van Hai, to develop Thanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater on the artistic path, it is necessary to closely follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the Government's policies and the industry's instructions.

Therefore, during the period when the whole country was affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, responding to the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater actively developed scripts with skits: Election in quarantine areas and Organizing elections in concentrated medical quarantine areas, social isolation areas or locked-down areas, contributing significantly to disseminating to people how to handle situations that may occur due to the COVID-19 epidemic in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

With these skits, the Theater received a certificate of merit from the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa.

Especially, also during this time, with the scene Confidence in the front line against the epidemic - are words of faith and gratitude to the frontline team such as doctors, nurses, armed forces... who are facing the COVID-19 epidemic day and night, to bring peace and health to everyone.

With this scene, the Theater was honored to receive the A Prize in the competition of artistic works on the theme of COVID-19 prevention and control, organized by the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists.

Sharing about that difficult time, People's Artist Han Van Hai said: "During the period of social distancing, we followed the Party and State's policy, which is to complete the "dual task", both preventing the epidemic and completing the tasks of the industry. Therefore, we actively produced skits and animations, contributing to the propaganda of disease prevention, while the staff and artists were able to resume their artistic activities after a long period of stagnation."

In 2022, artistic activities were restored, as well as many art units across the country, under the direction of People's Artist Han Van Hai, Thanh Hoa Traditional Art Theater and artists returned to operation, many events of the province and the country had the participation of the Theater.

In particular, People's Artist Han Van Hai directed, developed the script and successfully organized the Incense Offering Ceremony and the Art Program to celebrate Vietnam Stage Day (August 12th of the lunar calendar) associated with the Traditional Festival of Thanh Hoa Professional Arts in 2022; Developed the overall script, General Director, directed the rehearsal and successfully performed the dramatization program to serve the Lam Kinh Festival in 2022, commemorating the 10th anniversary of Lam Kinh historical relic being recognized as a special national relic, 604 years of Lam Son Uprising, 594 years of King Le's coronation, 589 years of the death of National Hero Le Loi, contributing to the recovery and development of tourism; Developed the overall script, General Director, directed the rehearsal and performance of the Dramatization program to celebrate the 450th anniversary and birth year of Cultural and Military Celebrity Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu in Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province...

In particular, under the direct artistic direction of People's Artist Han Van Hai, three plays in the genres of Tuong, Cheo, and Cai Luong won high awards at the 2022 national festival such as: 1 Excellent Award for the Cheo play Dat Luc va bien ca; 1 Gold Medal for the Cai Luong play Dieu con re; 1 Silver Medal for the Tuong play Hoang De Le Dai Hanh...

With these achievements, People's Artist Han Van Hai is not only highly appreciated by professionals, but also recognized and awarded by the Provincial People's Committee: Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the Tuong play winning the Silver Medal at the National Tuong and Folk Opera Festival in 2022; Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the Cai Luong play winning the Gold Medal at the National Cai Luong Festival; awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa for provincial-level cultural, sports and tourism events in 2022; has 1 experience initiative applied at the Theater on "Preserving and developing traditional Cheo art".

At the same time, People's Artist Han Van Hai was awarded a Certificate of Merit for excellent performance by the Party Committee of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and a Certificate of Merit in the performing arts major by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

"The fact that the theater exploits themes with good content and ideas, reflecting the breath of the times, and achieving high results in competitions, has greatly encouraged the theater's staff, especially the artists. Those awards have encouraged those in the profession to continue to make efforts, try to stick with their profession, and at the same time contribute to the work of protecting and promoting the traditional values ​​of the nation," People's Artist Han Van Hai shared.

In 2023, in addition to the professional work of the Theater, People's Artist Han Van Hai, together with the staff and artists of the Theater, actively implemented the Party and State's policies on developing performing arts associated with tourism.

Therefore, many art programs directed, scripted and directed by People's Artist Han Van Hai have come to tourists in the province and the whole country, such as art programs: Ba Trieu Temple Festival, Trinh Palace Festival, Le Hoan Temple Festival...

Under the direct artistic direction of People's Artist Han Van Hai, the performances and programs of Thanh Hoa Traditional Arts Theater have achieved success at the Cheo, Tuong and Folk Opera Actor Talent Competition, such as: The National Tuong and Folk Opera Actor Talent Competition won 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 2 Promising Actor Awards, 1 Promising Voice; The National Cheo Actor Competition won: 3 First Prizes and 2 Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Theater Association. At the 2023 National Traditional Instrument Solo Competition, the Theater won 1 First Prize; 2 Second Prizes and 1 Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Musicians Association.

In particular, People's Artist Han Van Hai personally won an excellent award for creative and highly effective staging of excerpts at the 2023 National Cheo Actor Talent Competition; 1 certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 23 on continuing to build and develop Culture and Arts in the new period; was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department for his outstanding achievements in summarizing 3 years of implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

"In addition to staging plays at the Theater, we have staged many art programs at festivals, through which many historical figures of the country have been recreated, contributing to the education of the younger generation, while helping domestic and international tourists understand and love the heroic traditions of the Vietnamese people. Through these activities, we not only contribute to promoting tourism, but also create more jobs and increase income for the team of professionals," said People's Artist Han Van Hai.

Although, together with the Theater, reaping many achievements, People's Artist Han Van Hai himself still worries about the increasingly narrowing of traditional art. Partly because society is increasingly developing, the needs of people to enjoy have changed, another important part is that the team of people who love traditional art is getting smaller.

Therefore, in his role as the head of an art unit, People's Artist Han Van Hai hopes that the Party, the State, and departments and branches need to pay attention and make appropriate investments in the next generation of young people - those who play the role of preserving and promoting traditional values ​​in the future./.
