Opening of Hung Temple Festival and Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty

The program “Echoes of the Origin” includes 10 special performances in the form of medleys and dance scenes, water puppetry, drums... with the theme of praising the homeland of Vietnam in general and the land and people of Phu Tho in particular.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hung Kings' Commemoration and Cultural and Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty - 2025 Nguyen Huy Ngoc emphasized: The worship of Hung Kings has become the cultural identity and traditional morality of the Vietnamese people, expressing the deep gratitude of generations of descendants for the merits of their ancestors in the cause of building and defending the country. Worshiping Hung Kings is not only a spiritual activity, praying for the National Ancestor to bless the country with peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and prosperity, but also strengthens the solidarity, love, and mutual support of the Vietnamese ethnic community.

In particular, in 2012, the Hung King worship was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The gratitude and respect for ancestors and the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source” of the Vietnamese people were recognized as a valuable heritage of global significance, contributing to the richness and diversity of human culture.

Hung Temple Festival and Cultural - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty - 2025 will be held from March 29 to April 7 (ie from March 1 to 10) in Viet Tri city, Hung Temple Historical Relic Site and districts and towns in the province.

On this occasion, many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities imbued with the cultural identity of the origin were held, including: The death anniversary of the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and offering incense to commemorate the Mother Au Co; Incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Hung Kings of districts, cities and towns in Phu Tho province; The palanquin procession of communes, wards and towns on the outskirts of the relic site to Hung Temple.
