The wild green plum tree in Van Don island district now not only helps local people sell simple agricultural products, but many households also combine it with experiential tourism, elevating the unique fruit of this land.

According to the People's Committee of Van Don District, there are nearly 50 households growing green plums with about 100 hectares in the forests and hills. Green plums here have different characteristics from other places when they endure the sun and wind of the island district. Therefore, the green plums of Van Don forest are not too big but are very sweet, sour, and cool.

Currently, the retail price of green plums in the garden ranges from 80,000 - 120,000 VND/kg depending on the type of fruit.

In particular, every early summer, locals and tourists flock to Van Don to experience picking green plums and eating grilled chicken on the green hills.

Not only that, when buying green plums here, visitors are also guided by local people on how to process many different products such as soaking in wine, or making soft drinks, dried plums, jams...

Talking to Thanh Nien , a leader of Van Don district said that tourists coming to this island district at any time will have the opportunity to enjoy many other four-season trees such as custard apple, guava, orange, green plum, etc. Van Don district is planning to organize a green plum festival to turn this fruit into a tourist product to welcome visitors every summer.
