Ngoc Trinh returns to acting

Model Ngoc Trinh returns to the big screen after her private life's turmoil. Accepts a role in a movie Sister-in-law , Ngoc Trinh said the character she plays is the youngest, has some struggles, and is loved by her sisters.

“When I accepted the invitation to play the role of Ut Nhu, I appreciated that the artists did not hesitate to act in the film with me, making me feel that everyone welcomed me. Those things gave me great motivation, and were an opportunity for me to recover after life's upheavals. I think after upheavals, everyone needs the help and love from the audience to gain more confidence,” she said.

The model from Tra Vinh admitted that she is “not good at her job” and often causes trouble in film scenes. “I feel pressured when acting with many seniors. I have acted in 4-5 films but it still feels like the first time, I am taught every line, look, gesture…” by the seniors.

In the film, Ngoc Trinh said she had many “bruised” scenes. Before filming began, she met director Khuong Ngoc many times and shared her family stories, to help him better exploit the role for the film.

The first time Viet Huong and Hong Dao acted together in a movie

In Sister-in-law , Viet Huong plays the role of Sister Hai Nhi - the eldest daughter-in-law, the most powerful woman in the family. Playing the role of someone who is strict with her family but generous with outsiders, deep down she still wants to have a good relationship with her sisters-in-law.

After the eldest sister-in-law is Ba Ky, played by Hong Dao, an intelligent, modern woman who lives by principles and hates old habits. However, her own family life is broken, and Ba Ky does not have a good relationship with her daughter or her siblings.

Le Khanh plays Ms. Nam Thu, the noisiest character in the film, indecisive and opinionated. Married for many years, Nam Thu still has no children and her husband looks down on her family.

Taking on the role of Ms. Tu Anh, Dinh Y Nhung said her character is taciturn and quiet, but quick and resourceful in everything. Ms. Tu Anh is a bit grumpy, suffers because of love and commits suicide because of love.

The film is scheduled to be released on Christmas Day, December 20 - 3 months earlier than expected. The crew originally wanted to release it on March 8, 2025, but seeing that there were many competing factors, the producer accelerated the schedule.
