Finding a breakthrough in tourism development

The International Travel Conference - Quang Nam 2025 with the theme "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Route, Where Nature Meets Culture", recorded many contributions to create a breakthrough in tourism development in Quang Nam province.

On the morning of March 8, in Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province, the International Travel Conference - Quang Nam 2025 took place with the theme "Hoi An - My Son Heritage Route - Dong Giang Heaven Gate, Where Nature and Culture Meet", co-organized by the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking here, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, said that he had requested the tourism sector and related units and localities to focus on advising the provincial leaders to direct the effective and extensive implementation of the directions and instructions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) on tourism, including urgently advising and implementing tasks and solutions to create a breakthrough in tourism development as stated in the Quang Nam Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

“We must focus on improving the quality of existing tourism products, building new tourism products, focusing on the province’s advantageous and unique products on the basis of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, connecting tourist routes and destinations to form new tourism corridors; encouraging and attracting businesses to invest in product development…”, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province: Quang Nam is an important land on the tourism map of Vietnam, with two world cultural heritages: Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary; along with the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve and the art of Bai Choi - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO; with 19 national intangible cultural heritages such as: Tra Que vegetable growing, lantern making, hammock weaving, bamboo and coconut house making in Hoi An, Quang noodle processing, Ba Trao singing, brocade weaving of the Co Tu people, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, the International Travel Conference - Quang Nam 2025 is a forum for exchanging and proposing solutions for developing tourism in Quang Nam in general and the western mountainous region of the province in particular. At the same time, announcing the tourist route connecting from East to West of Quang Nam: Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate, connecting diverse cultures, creating unique and different tourism products and services, contributing to the development of the province's tourism industry, making Quang Nam tourism an attractive destination for tourists.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FVG Group, the formation of the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate heritage route along with the planning of the development of a new tourist center around the Dong Giang Heaven Gate tourist area is an overall strategy to make the mountainous region of Quang Nam become an attractive destination on the Vietnamese tourism map. "If implemented effectively, this will become an important driving force to promote the sustainable socio-economic development of the mountainous region of Quang Nam, bringing practical benefits to the community and the locality," said Mr. Tuan.

To continue promoting the role of youth in promoting the national identity and culture of the province, developing tourism, especially responsible tourism and sustainable tourism, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union, proposed that the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, agencies, departments and organizations continue to pay attention to creating conditions and mechanisms for youth to participate and directly contribute to preserving and building local culture and tourism, specifically building mechanisms and policies to support youth in general, especially ethnic minority youth, to develop ecotourism; Applying digital transformation and technology in tourism promotion; Building a network connecting youth startups;...

At the workshop, delegates also presented papers on: Strategic orientation for developing tourism in the mountainous region of Quang Nam; Solutions to increase tourism attraction from the Korean market to the central region (Vietnam);...

On this occasion, the leaders of Quang Nam province awarded the Green Tourism Certificate to Dong Giang Heaven Gate Eco-tourism Area and announced the decision to approve the transport exploitation route on the Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Road. In addition, the Vietnam Record Organization awarded the record certificate for the longest dragon-shaped covered corridor across the mountain in Vietnam to Hang Hop Eco-tourism Area Joint Stock Company.

Leaders of Quang Nam province and travel companies signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation in developing tourism in Quang Nam and announced the new tourism development corridor in Quang Nam province: "Hoi An - My Son - Dong Giang Heaven Gate Heritage Route: Where nature and culture meet".
