According to Dan Tri reporters, it is already December 28, but the number of customers buying peach and kumquat trees on 3/2 Street, Vinh City, Nghe An is very sparse. At many places displaying ornamental plants and Tet flowers, there are more sellers than buyers.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Manh (from Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) imported more than 100 Nhat Tan peach trees to Vinh city to serve customers during the Lunar New Year. However, at this time, although it is already December 28, Mr. Manh still has more than 70 peach trees.

"Peach blossoms sell very slowly, only a few trees a day. You can see that, it's past 9am on the 28th of Tet and only the owner and his assistant are "looking after" each other, no customers come to ask, let alone sell," said Mr. Manh.

Tet is near but there are still many peach trees left, so Mr. Manh decided to sell them off, accepting a loss in the hope of recovering some capital. In the past, each peach tree cost an average of 1.5 million VND, but now it has dropped to 600,000 VND/tree.

However, even with the sign of selling at a loss at the same price, Mr. Manh's peach shop only had a few customers coming to see.

At the intersection of 3-2 Street and Le Hong Phong Street, the situation of more sellers than buyers is common. According to Mr. Duy The (living in Vinh City) - a person who specializes in selling mai flowers - this year, the purchasing power of customers has decreased significantly.

Mr. Manh said that on average he sells a few peach trees a day, now he has to sell at a loss to recover capital (Photo: Hoang Lam).

Mr. The imported 700 mai trees, priced from 500,000 VND to 3 million VND, depending on the size and shape of the tree. Currently, this man has sold more than half of the imported trees.

"With trees that are blooming and starting to bud like this, they will bloom during Tet, creating a tree that is all white, very beautiful. Nhat chi mai has beautiful flowers and shape, moderate roots, suitable for small, cozy spaces, moreover, this type of tree is not too much on the Tet flower market, so customers also quite like it," said Mr. The.

However, with more than 300 mai flowers in a context where few people are buying them at this time, Mr. The decided to bring half of the flowers to the central park area of Vinh city - where people are bustling - hoping to sell them faster.

"Peach blossoms are very slow this year. The weather is erratic. In just over a week, the weather has gone from cold to warm and sunny, then cold again. The peach blossoms are all blooming," said Mr. Can, tying peach branches to his motorbike. Mr. Can imported these peach blossoms from Son La to Nghe An around December 20.

The 3/2 street area is crowded with peach sellers, so Mr. Can went to find another location in the center of Vinh city, with fewer sellers, hoping to have customers.

"Try to sell today and tomorrow, hope to sell all these peaches", Mr. Can said.
