On November 7, in Thanh Son district, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism coordinated with the District People's Committee to organize the Provincial Ethnic Minority Sports Festival 2024.
Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Vi Manh Hung presented congratulatory flowers at the Festival.
Attending the event were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Vi Manh Hung - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and leaders of Thanh Son district.
Delegates presented flowers and souvenir flags to representatives of delegations participating in the Festival.
The 2024 Provincial Ethnic Minority Sports Festival will take place over 3 days, from November 7-9, attracting 165 athletes who are typical factors in ethnic minority sports activities from 5 districts with high ethnic minority population ratios in the province: Thanh Son, Tan Son, Thanh Thuy, Doan Hung and Yen Lap. The athletes will compete in 4 events: Con Tossing, Tug of War, Stick Pushing and Crossbow Shooting.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Comrade Vi Manh Hung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, presented a beautiful flower basket to congratulate the Festival.
Athletes compete in men's crossbow shooting.
This is a cultural and sports activity with profound political and social significance, aiming to effectively implement the Party and State's policies on ethnic and mountainous areas and is an image of the great solidarity of ethnic groups. Through the competition, it creates conditions for ethnic minority athletes in the province to exchange and share experiences with each other; at the same time, it contributes to promoting the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" at the grassroots level.
