Ninh Binh Tourism Industry with the development of green tourism

With rich and diverse tourism resources, notably Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Cuc Phuong National Park, Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, etc., Ninh Binh has many advantages in developing eco-tourism and green tourism, unique tourism products with high competitiveness and distinctiveness.

According to Mr. Nguyen Cao Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, with its own characteristics and potentials in terms of nature-culture-history, Ninh Binh province has determined to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, with its own brand and image associated with the potential and unique values ​​of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu and the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex. In order to properly implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development in Ninh Binh province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, in recent years, the provincial tourism sector has been promoting propaganda and raising awareness of people and businesses in preserving and protecting the environment. Ninh Binh is considered a model for ensuring harmony between development and protection of environmental resources, people are considered the center for developing green tourism and sustainable development.

"It is a fact that when coming to Trang An or any tourist destination in Ninh Binh, you will see that the preservation and protection of the green, clean and beautiful environment is done by the people. The awareness of businesses when investing in renovating tourist destinations or historical and cultural relics must respect the natural elements, historical and cultural elements to the maximum to restore and develop products and services suitable to the natural conditions and protect environmental resources at each location" - Comrade Nguyen Cao Tan emphasized.

For many years, the province has paid attention to leadership and direction, the tourism industry has always focused on and oriented the development of tourist areas and spots associated with green tourism, identifying tourism development as a spearhead economic sector, one of the three strategic breakthroughs, creating a strong economic restructuring direction; shifting from the construction materials exploitation industry to tourism development, creating a "green" growth model. Specifically, investing in developing tourist areas and spots into "safe-friendly-attractive" destinations such as: Trang An Eco-tourism Area, Tam Coc-Bich Dong Tourist Area, Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, Cuc Phuong National Park, Thung Nham Bird Garden, Bai Dinh Pagoda... At the same time, tourism development is associated with the orientation of preserving and promoting the value of nature reserves, preserving historical - cultural relics, and scenic spots. Areas that need to be preserved and development restricted include architectural works, historical and cultural relics that need to be preserved and embellished, especially for 4 nature reserves: Cuc Phuong National Park; Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve; Hoa Lu Special-Use Forest; Red River Delta World Biosphere Reserve (Kim Son-Con Noi mangrove forest).

Also according to comrade Nguyen Cao Tan, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism: Recognizing that environmental protection is an urgent task not only for the tourism industry but also for all levels, sectors, and the whole society to serve sustainable tourism development, every year, the Department of Tourism organizes the integration of environmental protection content into training programs, professional development, and tourism civilization for key officials at the commune level, workers working at enterprises, communities participating in tourism services at tourist areas and destinations in the province and students at high schools and secondary schools in the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex with the theme of preserving and promoting heritage values ​​associated with sustainable environmental protection. Thereby, it has an impact on awareness, changes in actions and work of grassroots officials and communities participating in tourism. For example, at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, each boat carrying tourists has a trash basket. If the boatman sees trash, he will actively collect it and bring it to the shore to be gathered at the right place. The tourism exploitation unit here arranges specialized boats to collect algae and floating trash to ensure the environment and landscape are always clean and beautiful.

To continue developing green tourism and sustainable tourism, the tourism sector continues to pay attention to doing a good job of propaganda and mobilizing organizations, individuals and people of all walks of life to implement the directives of the Central, local and industry on environmental protection associated with tourism activities in the province. Determining the development of green tourism and sustainable tourism is not only for one industry but also for all levels, sectors of all organizations, individuals, businesses and domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Ninh Binh; in tourism activities, always focus on the sustainable use of biodiversity resources of forests, seas and wetlands in the province to protect people's health, protect the environment and biodiversity. Along with that, develop a tourism development plan associated with climate change, from which there will be a proactive view and specific plans for situations that occur when adverse impacts of nature affect human life. Strictly implement daily waste collection and classification activities at tourist areas and spots, minimize the use of disposable plastic items; persistently propagate and realize the messages "Throw garbage in the right place", "Say no to disposable plastic products", "Limit the use of hard-to-decompose plastic bags" in ticket sales areas, parking areas, sales areas...; combine with the development and implementation of rules and regulations to ensure security, order, environmental sanitation, culture and civilization at tourist areas and spots in the province.

Strengthening the coordination of functional sectors in the inspection and handling of violations of environmental protection activities in the tourism sector in the province (need to be carried out regularly and promptly) so that environmental protection and promotion of green tourism development are substantial, truly in-depth, and highly sustainable. On the other hand, promoting closer coordination between tourism service businesses and departments, branches, sectors, and local authorities; mobilizing investment resources for environmental protection in tourism activities in the province.
