Every day, this place welcomes hundreds of visitors to visit and shop. In addition to attractive promotions and discounts, this supermarket also offers new services such as home delivery within one hour, automatic checkout...

Saigon Co.op also opened the Co.opXtra Long Binh supermarket (Thu Duc City). This place has a business area of 4,000 m2 with a total investment capital, equipment, and goods of nearly 100 billion VND and operates according to a streamlined model, optimizing artificial intelligence and modern technology, focusing on improving the customer experience.
Recently, the Aeon Ta Quang Buu supermarket and department store (District 8) was opened with an area of nearly 7,000m2. Aeon Ta Quang Buu applies technology in almost every step, from the cashier counter, self-service kiosk to smart lockers and modern services such as free Japanese-style gift wrapping, ice machines to preserve fresh food..., attracting a lot of customers, especially young people to come and play, eat and shop every day.
Speaking to reporters on November 26, Mr. Nguyen Tuan, Deputy General Director of Saigon Trading Group (Satra), said that he is completing the final steps to prepare for the opening of Satra Vo Van Kiet Commercial Center (District 6) at the end of this year. This hypermarket has a construction area of nearly 30,000m2, a rental area of 15,000m2, along with a Satramart self-service supermarket area of more than 1,500m2.
According to Mr. Tuan, Satra Vo Van Kiet Commercial Center is a modern shopping and entertainment space, meeting all the needs of people in District 6 and neighboring areas. The main industries here include food, entertainment, fashion, accessories, jewelry, entertainment areas, and multi-industry supermarkets.
Abundant Tet goods, "crashing" promotions
Along with accelerating the opening of points of sale, retailers expect to bring goods closer and faster to consumers, especially during the Tet shopping season. Currently, supermarkets are rushing to prepare Tet goods in large quantities with many attractive promotions. Satra representative said that this unit has worked with suppliers for many months to ensure prices and supply of essential goods before, during and after Tet 2025. Accordingly, the total value of essential food and foodstuffs reserved for Tet 2025 will increase by 15 - 20% compared to last year. This retail system also commits to ensuring abundant, quality goods, reasonable prices, and avoiding shortages, sudden price increases, and poor quality goods during the peak shopping season.
Meanwhile, Saigon Co.op spent about VND10,000 billion preparing Tet goods, an increase of 20-50% compared to last year (depending on the product group). Most of the budget is prioritized for market stabilization products such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, pork, poultry, eggs, specialties... In the days before Tet, Co.opmart supermarkets also organize many mobile sales trips to remote areas, areas affected by storms and floods...
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, this retailer has the advantage of a network of supermarkets and convenience stores stretching from the South to the North, so it will take advantage of this to ensure adequate supply of goods at the best prices. "We have many deep promotion programs, coordinating with suppliers to reduce profits so that goods not only stabilize prices but are also cheaper than usual," said Mr. Thang.
Mr. Phan Van Dung, Deputy General Director of Vissan Company, said that the unit has prepared a budget of VND540 billion, an increase of 8% over the same period to implement the plan to prepare goods for Tet 2025. Of which, for fresh food, Vissan Company plans to supply the market with nearly 930 tons; this figure for processed food is about 3,700 tons (an increase of 5 - 8% compared to Tet 2024). “In the first 9 months of 2024, purchasing power decreased by 10 - 20%. Many experts expect purchasing power to improve in the fourth quarter and Tet 2025. However, we predict that purchasing power will increase by about 10%. This increase is still not equal to last year. Therefore, in addition to improving product quality, businesses themselves must have a budget to run promotional programs, offering deep discounts of up to 30% to attract customers to shop in order to complete the set plan because this year is really difficult," said Mr. Dung.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, affirmed that the city is accelerating the implementation of stimulus programs for the year-end shopping season. Currently, lending interest rates are developing well, banks are actively calling for loans, so capital pressure is no longer a big problem.
According to Mr. Bui Ta Hoang Vu, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, from now until the end of the year, the Department will focus on trade promotion, supporting businesses to expand their markets to meet the consumption demand at the peak of the year and the Lunar New Year 2025.
On November 26, speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Duc Lenh, Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch, said that banks in Ho Chi Minh City are lending nearly VND10,000 billion to 37 enterprises participating in the bank connection program (including enterprises in the price stabilization program and enterprises in the supply chain) with low lending interest rates (average of about 4%/year). In the last two months of the year, the bank will continue to support lending to stabilize the market, contributing to stabilizing the prices of goods, especially essential consumer goods during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2025.
