The separate financial reports of the third quarter of 2024 of 28 commercial banks showed that the total amount of capital lent to customers by banks as of September 30 reached VND 11,095 trillion, an increase of 11.53% compared to the end of 2023.

BIDV leads with loan capital as of September 30 reaching 1,914 trillion VND, up 10% compared to the end of last year and accounting for 17% of the 28 banks listed in this article.

VietinBank ranked second with outstanding customer loans reaching VND1,592 trillion, up 9.04% compared to the end of last year and accounting for a lending market share of 14.36%.

The customer loan market share of banks is only relative when Agribank has not announced its third quarter financial report. Moreover, because 5 weak banks including SCB, Dong A Bank, OceanBank, GPBank and CB have not announced their financial reports, the overview of the lending market share of the banking industry does not include these 5 banks.

Meanwhile, Vietcombank ranked third in terms of capital supply to the market, reaching VND1,387 trillion, up 10.23% compared to the end of last year and accounting for 13% of the lending market share.

In addition to the three state-owned giants mentioned above, the Top 10 banks with the most loans in the first three quarters of the year include: MB, Techcombank, VPBank, ACB, Sacombank, SHB and HDBank.

The ranking order remained unchanged compared to the end of the second quarter when the total amount of capital lent out by the Top 10 banks with the largest loans reached VND 8,633 trillion, accounting for up to 74% of the total outstanding loans of 28 commercial banks that have published financial reports.

Of which, MB lent 664,451 billion VND, up 14.98% compared to the end of last year, accounting for a lending market share of 5.99%.

Techcombank lent VND600,807 billion, up 19.68% compared to the end of last year, accounting for 5.41% of the lending market share.

VPBank lent VND565,557 billion, up 13.93% compared to the end of last year, accounting for 5.1% of the lending market share.

ACB lent VND545,333 billion, up 13.31% compared to the end of last year, accounting for 4.91% market share.

Sacombank lent VND513,690 billion, up 8.87% compared to the end of last year, accounting for 4.63% market share.

SHB lent VND467,468 billion, up 10.07% compared to the end of last year and accounting for 4.21% market share.

The remaining bank in the Top 10 is HDBank with VND381,463 billion in outstanding loans as of September 30, a sharp increase of 16.54% compared to the end of last year, accounting for 3% of the lending market share.

On the other hand, Saigonbank is the bank with the lowest outstanding loan balance in the system with only VND 19,967 billion in outstanding loans as of September 30, a slight increase of 2.20%.

In addition to Saigonbank, the remaining 8 banks with outstanding loans under VND100,000 billion include: ABBank (VND98,767 billion, up slightly by 0.67%); VietBank (VND91,953 billion, up 13.87%); Viet A Bank (VND77,267 billion, up 11.89%); NCB (VND64,380 billion, up 16.33%); BVBank (VND64,080 billion, up 10.93%); Kienlongbank (VND59,275 billion, up 14.47%); Baovietbank (VND46,381 billion, up 12.03%) and PGBank (VND36,891 billion, up 4.40%).

Statistics show that 100% of banks have positive credit growth. Credit growth of commercial banks has made a breakthrough since the second quarter of 2024 and by the end of the third quarter, 11 banks had achieved growth of 14% compared to the end of 2023.

Leading in credit growth in the first three quarters of the year were Techcombank (19.68%), HDBank (16.54%), NCB (16.33%), LPBank (16.10%), Nam A Bank (15.8%), MSB (15.29%), MB (14.98%), Kienlongbank (14.47%) and TPBank (14.35%).
