From 2025, college admission will be the same as university admission
At the event, Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Senior Specialist, Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), said that from 2025, colleges will be under the general management of the Ministry of Education and Training. Candidates can register for admission to majors and schools on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, instead of registering separately as before.
This change will be applied immediately in the 2025 admission round, to create the most favorable conditions for candidates.

Mr. Hung said that currently, the Ministry of Education and Training is focusing on updating college data to the common system.
Secondary schools will need more time to complete this roadmap. It is expected that candidates will not register for secondary schools on the same system as universities and colleges.
How are computer science and artificial intelligence different?
A candidate wondered why some universities offer both computer science and artificial intelligence, how are these two majors different?
MSc. Phung Quan - admissions consultant at the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) - explains that computer science and artificial intelligence are related but still have differences.
Computer science is a broad field that studies the principles, algorithms, systems, and technologies that help computers process information, including many branches such as programming, data structures, algorithms, security, databases, computer networks, and artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence is a narrower field of computer science that focuses on developing systems that can learn, reason, and make decisions like humans.
Artificial intelligence often includes fields such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and intelligent robotics…
If computer science provides the foundation for all computer technology, artificial intelligence is a part of it, specializing in creating intelligent systems that can automate and assist humans in many fields.
Note the suitability of the combination

Answering a candidate's question about whether industrial management is suitable for women, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry - said that most of the current professions, including technical fields such as automobile or mechanical engineering, do not discriminate between men and women, and some professions even have preferential policies for female students.
In particular, industrial management is a combination of management and industrial knowledge, which is considered very suitable for women.
Regarding the general trend of choosing preferences, Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan commented that normally, candidates often prioritize choosing a major first, then consider the rankings of schools and suitable admission combinations.
However, this year, the high school graduation exam only has two compulsory subjects, math and literature, and two elective subjects, so the "suitability" of the admission combination plays an important role for candidates considering high school graduation exam scores.

For example, a candidate loves two majors: business and industry management, and finds that the school recruits group A00 for both groups. Thus, the candidate will be able to optimize his/her chances when applying for admission by considering high school graduation exam scores.
"Candidates should consider choosing a combination that combines many majors at different schools, to expand their admission opportunities and increase their chances of being admitted to the most suitable major," he recommended.
What to do to increase your chances of getting into medicine?

Answering parents' questions about how to maximize their chances of being admitted to the medical field, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi - Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, said that for majors in the health sciences group such as medicine, many candidates have prepared very early, right from grade 10.
Currently, the B block combination (math - chemistry - biology) is still the main admission method at most schools with the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores. However, some universities have expanded their admission methods, in addition to high school exam scores, there are also methods of considering SAT certificates or competency assessment exam scores... Therefore, candidates need to refer to the admission plan of each school to understand best.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi advises that instead of just limiting yourself to reviewing the math - chemistry - biology combination, if you have decided to enter the medical field early, candidates can consider planning a roadmap and strategy to review for other methods to increase their chances of admission.
In particular, if candidates have an international English certificate, they will have a higher competitive advantage. Some medical schools currently have an admission method combined with an English certificate. "With an English certificate, students will definitely have an advantage," said Mr. Khoi.

In addition, he noted that although there are many admission methods, each school only recognizes one admission method of the candidate. If a candidate does not pass one wish by all admission methods, the next wish will be considered.
Therefore, it is very important to arrange your wishes in order of priority. The principle of choosing is to put your most favorite wish on top, even though the chance of being admitted may not be high.
The next choices will be the majors and schools that students like, in decreasing order. "This way of arranging choices will ensure that students are more likely to be admitted to their favorite choice," said Mr. Khoi.
Does studying veterinary medicine have many job opportunities?
A student asked about job opportunities when studying veterinary medicine and the work in this field, is it just "injecting" livestock and poultry?
Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Hung - admissions and career guidance consultant at the University of Agriculture and Forestry - said that the veterinary industry in Vietnam has many open career opportunities.
Graduates can work in veterinary hospitals, clinics, livestock farms, animal quarantine agencies or veterinary medicine and animal feed production companies.
In particular, with the strong increase in demand for pet care, young people can completely develop into veterinary experts in caring for dogs and cats, vaccinating, examining and treating diseases, providing nutritional advice, and even opening spas, pet hotels or stores selling pet care products.
"Many young people have boldly started businesses or owned pet care services with high income potential," said Mr. Hung.
Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Hung shared that to study this field, one must first have a love for animals, because veterinarians will often come into contact with, care for and treat many different types of animals. In addition, students need to be patient and meticulous, especially when caring for animals in general or pets in particular.

At the consulting booth of the University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (Huflit), many students asked: Chat GPT, AI is becoming more and more "prosperous", if you choose to study English or Korean, will your career path be wide open?
MSc. Chung Quoc Phong - Head of Admissions Department of University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, said that although technology helps people with many tasks, Chat GPT or AI does not have emotions like humans.
"When studying language-related majors, students will be equipped with specialized knowledge, soft skills, and especially the profession must be suitable for their abilities and passion. Therefore, if we only rely on technology, it is not enough to meet the requirements of the job position. Students can use artificial intelligence as a support tool for the major they choose to study...", Master Chung Quoc Phong advised.
Many students from the West are also worried about accommodation when they come to Ho Chi Minh City to study. Huflit's representative informed that the school has a team to support new students, from introducing private dormitories and rooms, consulting on rental prices, distance from accommodation to school... so that students have an overview, choose a suitable place to live as well as worry less when studying far from home.

Ms. Nga said that this year the school "mobilized" 11 vehicles with 7-33 seats to take students to get counseling. The school also has admission counseling activities for students, but by attending the fair, students have the opportunity to learn about the career and school they like.
"Students still prefer to ask and have their questions answered directly. They will be able to orient their career and choose a major that suits their abilities much better," Ms. Nga commented.
This year, in addition to her beloved students, Ms. Nga also brought her two daughters along to "get acquainted with the university education environment and to strive to become future students."

Knowing that this year the admission regulations, structure and content of the exam have been renewed according to the 2018 general education program, she was also worried so she went with her granddaughter to get advice on choosing a major and choosing a school.
"I support my child in taking the entrance exam for the major he chooses. The first time I attended the festival, I found it very interesting. I received enthusiastic advice and answers without having to pay any money," Ms. Nhuong said with a smile.
Meanwhile, attending the festival for the first time, 30 monks from the Southern Pali Intermediate Cultural Supplementary School (Soc Trang) shared their desire to receive advice and learn about the professions they love.
