On X (formerly Twitter), General Guillot called the Su-35 fighter's behavior "unsafe, unprofessional and dangerous for both sides".
Accompanying the post on X was a short video clip recorded on September 23 from the cockpit of an American pilot flying an F-16, according to Stars and Stripes on October 1.
Russian Su-35 fighter jet "cuts off" US F-16 while escorting bombers near Alaska
In the 15-second clip, a Russian Su-35 fighter suddenly appears to the left of the F-16 fighter and tilts its wing as it flies past. The US plane immediately reacts by swaying to one side.
The incident occurred inside the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone, NORAD said.
Image from the cockpit of an F-16 fighter jet and in the right corner is a Russian Su-35 that approached a US aircraft on September 23.
Previously, on September 14, NORAD tracked two IL-38 reconnaissance aircraft passing through the air defense identification zone.
And in July, Canadian and American fighter jets shadowed two Russian and two Chinese bombers flying about 200 miles off the coast of Alaska, according to US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on July 25.
In response to increased Russian and Chinese military activity in the Arctic, the Alaska-based 11th Airborne Division earlier this month deployed three Army units to the Aleutian Islands, about 1,200 miles west of Anchorage.
