(Dan Tri) - Hanoi National University is ranked 325th in the world for sustainable development, up 456 places compared to 2024 and ranked 51st in Asia and number 1 in Vietnam.
On December 10, the British education ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the results of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025 for 1,751 higher education institutions worldwide.
In this ranking, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) jumped to 325th in the world in terms of sustainable development, up 456 places compared to its ranking in the top 781-790 in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024, ranking 51st in Asia and No. 1 in Vietnam.

In the QS WUR Sustainability 2025 ranking, in addition to VNU, there are 9 other universities in Vietnam ranked, including: Duy Tan University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hue University, Da Nang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ton Duc Thang University, Can Tho University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
VNU’s contributions to building a more sustainable future environment and society have been clearly demonstrated through the increase in rankings in all criteria participating in this year’s ranking, including: Environmental education; environmental research; environmental sustainability; recruitment and outcomes; equality; health and well-being; educational impact; knowledge sharing and good governance.
The QS rankings evaluate higher education institutions based on three main criteria: environmental impact, social impact, and good governance.

Of which, VNU's environmental impact score is 61.8/100. Specifically, VNU's environmental education is ranked 350th in the world; environmental research is ranked 606th; environmental sustainability is ranked 508th.
VNU's social impact score is 73.7/100. In which, in the knowledge sharing category, it is ranked 189, up 264 places compared to 2024.
Employment and outcomes ranked 577; equality ranked 340; health and wellbeing ranked 496.
The total management score is 88.1/100. This is the highest ranked field of VNU at position 204.
Previously, in the QS AUR 2024 ranking, VNU made progress in recruitment reputation when it rose to 131st place in Asia (with a score of 34.2 points).
In addition to increasing recruitment reputation, VNU still maintains its strengths in international research network (ranked 89th in Asia - 71.9 points) and academic reputation (ranked 147th in Asia - 27.7 points).
