The next two positions on the list belong to Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hanoi National University, both in the 551-600 group. Compared to 2023 and 2024, the rankings of both schools in Computer Science training have slightly decreased.
Ton Duc Thang University ranks 5th among Vietnamese universities with a ranking in the 601-650 group.
Being included in the QS rankings is not only an international “passport” for Vietnamese universities, but also opens up countless opportunities. From attracting international students and lecturers, to promoting academic exchanges and research cooperation.
At the same time, this is also a motivation for schools to put more effort into scientific research, improve citation indexes and expand international cooperation networks.
It is impossible not to mention that this ranking also stimulates healthy competition among domestic schools, thereby improving the quality of training and research.
National University of Singapore (NUS) ranked first in Asia and fourth globally in Computer Science (Photo: NUS).
Looking across the region, in this year’s QS Computer Science rankings, Asia shows a strong position with the presence of 10 universities in the world’s top 30. The universities all come from technology-strong regions such as Singapore, China, Korea, Japan, etc.
Specifically, the two universities at the top of the list are both from Singapore, including the National University of Singapore (ranked 4th) and Nanyang Technological University (ranked 6th).
China also made the list with familiar names such as Tsinghua University (11th), Peking University (14th), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (20th). In addition, 3 schools from Hong Kong were in the top 30 including: University of Hong Kong (21st), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (24th) and Chinese University of Hong Kong (27th).
The remaining two universities are from South Korea and Japan, namely the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (ranked 29th) and the University of Tokyo, Japan (ranked 30th) globally.
