Talking about the opportunities of Vietnamese sports at the Olympic arena, Director of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation Dang Ha Viet affirmed that this is an extremely harsh playground, where the best athletes gather.

The competition is certainly fierce for the world's top athletes. Winning achievements at the Olympics is a measure of the socio-economic development, as well as the application of advanced science and investment in sports of each country or territory. For Vietnam, winning tickets to the Olympics and striving to be in the top medalists is also an opportunity for Vietnamese sports to make a breakthrough and reach new heights, creating a spreading influence and creating good momentum for the future.

Mr. Dang Ha Viet continued to share: “Although we know that achieving results at the Olympics is very difficult, in addition to key athletes with the ability to make breakthroughs, other faces must strive to surpass themselves. Shooting, archery and weightlifting athletes have the highest expectations. However, athletes in other sports such as badminton, rowing, canoeing, cycling, judo, boxing, athletics, swimming have also had careful and thorough preparations, along with calculations and intelligence in competition tactics to aim for the pinnacle of Olympic achievements. This is also the promise of the Vietnamese sports delegation before setting out on their mission. We always clearly see our responsibility and prepare a strong spirit, determination, aspiration to contribute, ready to enter the fight for the glory and colors of the Fatherland”.

K DESIRE TO CREATE SURPRISE

The Olympics will not open until July 26, but the Vietnamese delegation will compete early from July 25, and the pioneers are two archers. Arriving in France a few days ago, archers Do Thi Anh Nguyet and Le Quoc Phong have joined the athletes' village and had their first training sessions in the host country. Anh Nguyet shared: “This is my second time participating in the Olympics. I feel happy and proud to represent my country in the world's largest sports arena. If the first time I felt overwhelmed and confused, this time my mood is somewhat different, more confident and steady. I have also trained myself to have a stable and certain competitive mentality because archery requires continuous and high concentration from start to finish. Each shot requires dedication, maintaining a strong will and spirit. In particular, physical strength must also be very good. The G hour is coming, I hope I will be able to demonstrate all my abilities to create a surprise.”

Anh Nguyet wishes to create miracles

Le Quoc Phong, Anh Nguyet's teammate, was quite nervous because it was his first time being challenged at the Olympic arena. The archer from Vinh Long said: “I was fortunate to be guided and trained by a talented Korean expert, Coach Park Chae-soon. In particular, since joining the national team, the Sports Department has created conditions for me to participate in international tournaments, increasing my exposure and improving my skills. This has helped me learn many useful lessons to gradually improve my skills and expertise. I am determined to enter the battle with a confident, comfortable mindset as well as thorough professional preparation. Archery always requires great mental and psychological stability. Although I still lack experience and face difficulties against big names in the world, I always have the belief that the impossible can become possible. I always wish to sing the Vietnamese National Anthem at a world-class arena.”
