Among Hermès leather goods, the Birkin bag is considered the “holy grail”. This famous bag is named after actress Jane Birkin, born in the context of Jane meeting Hermès chairman - Jean-Louis Dumas - on a flight to London (UK) in 1984.
Over time, Hermès has continued to evolve the Birkin bag, making it the most coveted handbag in the world.
Hermès knows how to impress its loyal customers and handbag collectors. The French luxury brand has created a series of limited edition Birkin bags, including the world's most expensive handbag - the Birkin Sac Bijou.

Unlike other Birkin bag versions, the Birkin Sac Bijou design is not crafted from any type of leather. Instead, rose gold, white gold and diamonds are used to enhance the classy look.
In 2012, the then creative director of jewelry at Hermès - Pierre Hardy - designed the Haute Bijouterie collection. The collection includes four designs crafted from precious metals and extremely sophisticated gemstones, including the Birkin Sac Bijou bag and the Kelly Sac Bijou bag.
By 2012, the Kelly bag and the Birkin bag were already so popular that Hermès wanted to put them at the top of the wish lists of luxury handbag collectors and customers.
The French fashion house has brought a new, glamorous look to the Kelly and Birkin bags using the most premium materials.

In the Haute Bijouterie collection, the Kelly Sac Bijou bag is crafted from rose gold, set with 1,160 diamonds.
In addition to the rose gold material, the Birkin Sac Bijou bag is also inlaid with up to 2,712 diamonds, increasing its value to 2 million USD (nearly 50 billion VND).
Despite its small size, the Birkin Sac Bijou still functions like a regular handbag.
The rose gold flap of the bag has a crocodile-like appearance with beautiful "scales". Meanwhile, other parts such as the body of the bag, the handle, the touret, the sangles, the H pattern on the cadena lock, the clochette key pocket, are all covered in diamonds.
There are only three diamond Birkin Sac Bijous left in the world, making this bag extremely rare.
In 2019, Hermès reissued the Birkin Sac Bijou bag in a version with black garnet and spinel stones, instead of diamonds.
