With joy and excitement to welcome spring, every Thanh citizen looks back at the past year with many outstanding events and marks in the socio-economic development picture of the province.

Along with the whole country, Thanh Hoa province has gone through 2024 with advantages, difficulties and challenges intertwined. Upholding the spirit of "Discipline - Responsibility - Action - Creativity - Development", the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province have promoted their potential and advantages, gradually removed difficulties and overcome challenges. The province's socio-economic, defense and security have achieved many positive results, most areas achieved higher results than the same period, many important targets exceeded the set plan and were among the leading groups in the country.

The growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated at 12.16%, exceeding the plan and ranking second in the country; GRDP per capita is estimated at 3,360 USD, an increase of 293 USD compared to 2023. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production has achieved quite comprehensive results. The index of industrial production (IIP) in 2024 is estimated to increase by 19.25%, which is the main driving force for the province's growth; the service sector continues to develop, with many indicators increasing sharply such as total retail sales of goods and service revenue, export value, total tourism revenue, transportation revenue, etc. Tourism activities are taking place vigorously, gradually affirming the brand "Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance". The total number of tourists in 2024 is estimated at 15.3 million, exceeding the plan by 10.9%, up 22.5%; Total tourism revenue exceeded the plan by 4.4%, up 38%...

Thanh Hoa province's state budget revenue in 2024 will reach over VND 55,000 billion, the highest ever, ranking first in the North Central region and 8th in the country. Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at VND 34,750 billion, exceeding 57.8% of the estimate and increasing by 31.6% over the same period; revenue from import-export activities is estimated at VND 20,835 billion, exceeding 53.8% of the estimate and increasing by 24.3%. Total mobilized social investment capital is estimated at VND 138,856 billion, exceeding 2.9% of the plan and increasing by 4.5% over the same period.

Foreign affairs and investment promotion activities continue to be promoted. In 2024, Thanh Hoa attracted 108 projects (including 19 FDI projects), with a total registered capital of VND 13,321.6 billion and USD 422.9 million, 1.3 times higher than the same period in terms of number of projects and an increase of 15.9% in terms of registered capital. Disbursement of public investment capital managed by the province reached over VND 11 trillion, equal to 82% of the plan, 7.5% higher than the same period...

The quality of cultural and social activities continues to improve; mass education increases by 3 levels compared to 2023; key education and high-performance sports remain among the leading groups in the country; social security is ensured, and people's lives are stable. The campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province and the campaign for people to donate land to invest in renovating, upgrading, and improving infrastructure are widely implemented and achieve positive results, bringing profound humanistic meaning...

Like swallows weaving the beauty of spring, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province through the ages have always been united, constantly striving, inheriting existing achievements, cherishing every opportunity, being sensitive to new opportunities, turning potential into advantages to build and develop the homeland to become more and more beautiful and dignified, creating a strong qualitative change after having accumulated enough quantity... Recently, at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, General Secretary To Lam had a discussion on the new era of development, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise. General Secretary To Lam pointed out the destination of the rise era as a rich people, a strong country, a socialist society, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers. The top priority in the new era is to successfully implement the strategic goals by 2030, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry and high average income; by 2045 it will become a developed socialist country with high income. At the same time, that era strongly arouses national spirit, the spirit of autonomy, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-reliance, national pride, and the aspiration to develop the country; closely combining national strength with the strength of the times. The starting point of the new era is the 14th National Party Congress. General Secretary To Lam said that this is the time to "converge" all advantages and strengths to bring the country into a new era, an era of national growth following the era of independence, freedom, building socialism and the era of innovation.

In 2025, the province continues to set a high growth target with a growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of 11% or more; GRDP per capita of 3,750 USD or more; total mobilized development investment capital of 140,000 billion VND or more; social labor productivity growth rate of 9% or more; state budget revenue of 45,492 billion VND or more; total export value of 8 billion USD or more; newly established 3,000 or more enterprises; urbanization rate of 40%... In 2025, Thanh Hoa strives to have 2 more districts and 21 communes meeting NTM standards, 2 districts and 49 communes meeting advanced NTM standards and 14 communes meeting model NTM standards; The poverty rate according to new criteria for the 2021-2025 period will decrease by 1.5% or more...
