Recently, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province had a meeting with Vietnam Railway Corporation on the implementation of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train. The units and localities agreed on a number of plans and solutions to soon put the tourist train into operation on the occasion of March 26.
The deployment of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train will bring tourists interesting experiences of mountain and coastal scenery.
The Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang railway section passes through the north of Hai Van Pass, with majestic mountains on one side and the clear blue sea on the other. Passing through the pass, visitors will be able to admire the natural beauty bestowed upon this land.
Many people who have experienced this railway route believe that the section through Lang Co - Hai Van Pass is the most beautiful railway route in Vietnam. The route leans on towering mountains on one side and faces the deep sea on the other, creating a unique landscape.
The Hue - Da Nang railway section consists of 12 stations with a length of 102km; of which 3 stations are located on steep passes, far from residential areas and 9 stations that can receive passengers are Hue, Huong Thuy, Truoi, Cau Hai, Thua Luu, Lang Co, Kim Lien, Thanh Khe and Da Nang.
Train travel time for the Hue - Da Nang section is about 3.5 to 4 hours compared to road travel time of about 2 hours.
On the train journey from Thua Thien Hue to Da Nang and vice versa, passengers will pass through many famous landmarks, especially Hai Van Pass. The construction of this railway line is considered a miracle because of the extremely rugged terrain of Hai Van Pass.

The railway route across Hai Van Pass connecting Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang has the same length as the road, passing through Kim Lien, Hai Van Nam (Da Nang), Hai Van (located in the middle of the pass), Hai Van Bac, Lang Co (Thua Thien Hue) stations.
The railway through Hai Van Pass winds along the mountainside, has 6 tunnels and 18 bridges, of which the shortest tunnel is 85m, the longest tunnel is 600m.

When preparing to reach the end of the Hai Van pass, visitors will be able to see the entire Lang Co Bay - the most beautiful bay in the world. Lang Co Bay is 42.5km long, more than 60km from Hue city and 20km from Da Nang, is an almost pristine bay located at the foot of Hai Van pass, with flat beaches, clear blue water, and diverse ecosystems.
Looking out into the distance are vast tropical forests on undulating mountain ranges, between the mountains and the sea is the vast Lap An lagoon. This is one of the famous tourist destinations of Thua Thien Hue province, considered by King Khai Dinh as a paradise.
Upon arriving at Lang Co station, visitors can get off the train to visit and explore famous tourist areas such as Hoi Dua, Hoi Mit, Lap An lagoon, Lang Co beach as well as enjoy fresh seafood dishes grown and caught by local fishermen.
One of Lang Co's famous seafood dishes is fresh oysters. Oyster farming in Lap An lagoon has been maintained by Lang Co people for decades. Currently, Lap An lagoon area is the largest oyster barn in Lang Co Bay.
From Lang Co to Hue city, visitors will pass through many famous places with natural scenery of the majestic Bach Ma range often covered in clouds, the blue Hai Nuoc lagoon, and the Truoi land with "sweet jackfruit and fragrant strawberries".
At the southern end of Hai Van Pass, the train will take visitors through Van Village, a small village located right at the foot of Hai Van Pass, in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, about 30km from the city center with about 1 hour of travel.
