On the afternoon of November 14, the program "Golden Apricot Blossom Gratitude" organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with the support of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank visited and presented gifts to Folk Artist Nguyen Quynh - a veteran revolutionary, former Director of Quang Nam - Da Nang Provincial Radio Station.

Mr. Nguyen Quynh (96 years old, residing in Duy Trung commune, Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam) is a veteran who contributed to the revolution to seize power in Duy Trung commune in 1945. From 1945 to 1976, he held many revolutionary positions and held the position of Secretary of Duy Xuyen district Party Committee.
From June 1980 to 1989, he held the position of Deputy Head of Propaganda Department, Director of Quang Nam - Da Nang Provincial Radio Station. During more than 9 years of work, Mr. Nguyen Quynh made great contributions to preserving and spreading the art as well as building the next generation of Tuong artists.
Until his retirement, Mr. Nguyen Quynh was still the main contributor in restoring, maintaining and promoting the value of Tuong art in Quang Nam and the Central region. During his long tenure as chairman of the Council of Tra Kieu Five Communes (Duy Xuyen district), he made many great contributions to the preservation and promotion of local folk culture.
Mr. Nguyen Quynh is 96 years old this year, his health is declining.

With his contributions, Mr. Nguyen Quynh was honored to be awarded the title of Meritorious Artisan by the President.
With his contributions, Mr. Nguyen Quynh was awarded the title of Folk Artist by the Vietnam Folk Arts Association.
On March 8, 2019, Mr. Nguyen Quynh was honored to receive the title of Meritorious Artisan by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in his capacity as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for his outstanding contributions in preserving and promoting the nation's intangible cultural heritage.
On the afternoon of November 14, when the program "Mai Vang Tri An" visited, Mr. Nguyen Quynh was very moved. He said that he regularly follows the local Tuong art activities and wants to devote all his life to preserving this art form.
On behalf of her father, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang sent her thanks to the program "Mai Vang Tri An" produced by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. Ms. Trang said that the gift from the program is a great encouragement and recognition for the life of dedication of Folk Artist Nguyen Quynh.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen The Duc, Vice Chairman of Duy Xuyen District People's Committee, also said that "Golden Apricot Blossoms" is a very meaningful program, demonstrating the tradition of young people remembering their ancestors.
