Thinh made the cake in 12 hours. The material used to make this cake is entirely cream. Thinh said that before joining the contest, he spent about 20 days learning about sculpting and sculpture making to apply to the cake. “The hardest part is the face because you have to use cream, create every facial muscle line, eye socket... Cream is a very difficult material to work with and cannot be kept for long at room temperature,” Thinh shared.

Taking over the family bakery
At the age of 11, Thinh started making cakes, but after finishing high school, he did not want to follow in his family's footsteps. Thinh was very interested in tourism so he studied at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. A year later, Thinh stopped studying and then studied visual communication at Kyonggi University, South Korea.
The cake is inspired by the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter.

In 2022, Thinh decided to take over his family's bakery in Cu Chi District: "I realized that I loved baking since I was young, but my passion was not too great. It was not until I studied abroad and gained a lot of experience that I realized I was passionate about baking. My parents are also old, so they need my help," Thinh shared.
After taking over the family bakery, Thinh realized the need to change the design and quality to better reach young people. This young man took many baking techniques courses from domestic and foreign experts to improve his skills.
One of Thinh’s strengths is his ability to communicate and build a brand image. Studying abroad has helped Thinh gain more knowledge about communication, which is very useful when taking over the bakery. Thinh has helped his family’s bakery brand become more and more prominent and attract more customers, especially young people.

Thinh wants to inspire young people to pursue their dreams: "Step out of your comfort zone to pursue your passion. Don't be afraid of challenges and always have your own personality in what you do. That's how you can assert yourself and make a difference." Thinh said that it was his courage and spirit of constant innovation that upgraded his family bakery and made a name for himself in competitions.
Competing with Thinh in the Vietnam Bakery Cup and winning a gold medal in the sugar art cake category, Ms. Cao Thi Thu Thao, living in Cu Chi District, commented: "I see that Thinh has very good advanced cake making techniques. The flowers made from cream are very vivid, the technique of creating blocks to form a human face is perfect."
