"Mai Vang Tri An" program visited and presented gifts to People's Artist Ha The Dung

At noon on December 13, the "Mai Vang Tri Gratitude" program organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with the support of Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank visited Gia Dinh People's Hospital and presented a gift worth 10 million VND (cash) to People's Artist Ha The Dung.

He had a traffic accident on his way home from the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations after leaving the Thu Thiem tunnel, resulting in a broken right leg. He had surgery, had his bones realigned, and is currently being treated at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Gia Dinh People's Hospital.

Receiving the gift from the program "Mai Vang Tri An", People's Artist Ha The Dung confided: "I thank the timely attention of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. In the past few days after the accident, I was very sad because I am a choreographer but I encountered this situation. Through this attention, I have more motivation to try to overcome it, to quickly recover so that I can continue teaching and contributing. Thank you "Mai Vang Tri An" program.

Accompanying the delegation was Mr. Le Nguyen Hieu - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association, Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Arts and Literature Associations. He expressed his joy and gratitude when the program "Mai Vang Tri An" has always cared for and helped many retired dancers and choreographers in difficult circumstances, who have made many contributions to the cultural and artistic achievements of the city.

People's Artist Ha The Dung is one of the choreographers who has contributed much to the development of contemporary dance. He has had many successful works, which are works that explore new creativity with the starting point being inspired by traditional art but suitable for the aesthetic taste of contemporary Vietnamese people.

People's Artist Ha The Dung, former Principal of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School, is currently Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association. When he was a boy, he happened to see a notice posted on the wall (formerly the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ha Tay province) of the Military Arts School recruiting students, he tried his hand and was accepted.

After 4 years of study (1976 - 1984), he graduated from the Intermediate Dance School of the National Theater School, and was sent to the Vietnam Dance School to improve his skills under the guidance of Soviet teachers. At this time, his talent was discovered, which was the first main role in the play "Spartacus". And from then on, on the opera stage, actors Ha The Dung and Kieu Ngan were the main dancing couple in many dance plays: "Giselle", "Swan Lake", "Faust", "The Nutcracker", "The Legend of Mother", "Truong Chi"... were very loved and became ballet stars of Vietnam.

From 1987 to 1991, he continued to study at the Leningrad University of Culture (Russia). Upon returning to Vietnam, he held the position of Head of the Ballet Troupe of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. From 2000 to 2003, he continued to Paris (France) to practice at the Modern Dance Training Center (CNDC - France), and then returned to Vietnam to teach at the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School until his retirement.

He is the first Vietnamese to be awarded the highest degree in contemporary dance teacher training by the French Government.

In recent years, People's Artist Ha The Dung has focused on the field of modern dance. He has 4 dance poems, dance suites and dance dramas with modern colors such as: "Immortal Blue", "Window", "Living Space and Dead Space", "Monsoon Dances", these works have won many awards at festivals and performances.

The plays "Agent Orange Pain", "Confession of Rain and Sun", "New Streams"... staged by him for the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater, the Lotus National Music and Dance Theater, and the Military Region 7 Art Troupe were well received by the public.

Recently, he composed the 4-movement dance suite "Fatherland - Two words of love, two words of pride" with a very heroic rhythm. He is one of the members of the Organizing Committee and Jury of the Ho Chi Minh City Open Dance Festival organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association.

"Upon receiving the news that People's Artist Ha The Dung had an accident, many colleagues, friends, students, especially the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City Dance College, sent students to take turns taking care of, helping and encouraging People's Artist Ha The Dung to quickly overcome this pain. Everyone's affection helped him quickly overcome his injuries, so that he could soon return to teaching, staging and participating in the Association's activities" - Mr. Le Nguyen Hieu shared.
