Many big programs of Lao Dong Newspaper come to Long An

(NLDO) - The Lao Dong Newspaper has continuously disseminated and promoted information about Long An province, contributing to the overall development of the locality.

On February 10, in Long An province, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper organized the program "New Year's meeting of the Representative Office (RO) in the Mekong Delta region".

Implement many programs in Long An

Speaking at the program, Dr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, said that Nguoi Lao Dong was one of the first press agencies to open a representative office in the Mekong Delta region located in Can Tho City on May 1, 1998. Up to now, after 27 years of establishment and development, the representative office in the Mekong Delta region of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has become an important bridge between the newspaper and the Party Committee, government and local people.

The Lao Dong Newspaper has coordinated propaganda with most provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, contributing to promoting information and propaganda work on the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws in the locality. The newspaper has been commended and rewarded by leaders of provinces and cities in the region.

Along with content activities, the Party Committee - Editorial Board of the Lao Dong Newspaper also directed the Mekong Delta Regional Office to regularly connect with localities to implement behind-the-scenes programs. Notable among them are the "Proud of the National Flag" Program, the "Scholarship Program to support ethnic minority and poor students", the "Golden Apricot Gratitude" Program, the "Bringing Schools to Candidates" Program, etc.

To date, the "Pride of the National Flag" program has awarded and signed a contract to award a total of 427,750 flags to 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region. Of which, Long An is one of the localities receiving the largest number of national flags with 54,500 flags to implement the "National Flag Road" routes.

The "Scholarship program to support ethnic minority and poor students" has awarded more than 1.5 billion VND in Long An. This is also the locality with the highest number of scholarships in the region.

The program "Mai Vang Tri An" has reached many outstanding artists and intellectuals in the region. Today, the program reached 1 People's Artist and 1 writer of Long An province.

The annual exam season consultation program "Bringing schools to candidates" is broadcast live in localities in the region. In Long An, it was held in Tan An City and on March 8, it will continue to be held at Hau Nghia High School, Duc Hoa District.

This shows that the province has made a very strong breakthrough. Mr. Pham Tan Hoa, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, said that with its special geographical location as the gateway to the Mekong Delta, Long An plays an important role in connecting trade between the Mekong Delta region and other provinces and cities, especially with Ho Chi Minh City. In recent years, Long An has achieved many important socio-economic development achievements.

Mr. Bui Thanh Liem, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, presented a symbolic plaque to award 100 scholarships to leaders of Can Giuoc and Thanh Hoa districts.

In 2024, Long An achieved and exceeded 21/21 targets set by the Provincial People's Council Resolution; GRDP growth rate reached 8.3% (ranked 3rd in the Mekong Delta). This is the highest growth rate since the beginning of the term. The province's state budget revenue exceeded VND 25,000 billion for the first time (reaching VND 26,500 billion); the province's investment and business environment has clearly improved and is highly appreciated by the business community...

Recognizing that good contribution, on May 27, 2022, Long An Provincial People's Committee and Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper signed the Coordination Program for the period 2022 - 2025 to implement comprehensive coordination and identify key and specific contents for each year.

At the meeting, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper continued to present 3,000 flags from the "Pride of the National Flag" program to cadres, soldiers and people of Long An province to implement the "National Flag Road" program.

On this occasion, the "Mai Vang Tri An" program presented gifts and honored two artists: People's Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh and Lieutenant Colonel, writer Nguyen Hoi. People's Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh has received many awards such as: Gold Medal at the National Cai Luong Theater Festival in 2015, 2018...; Certificates of Merit from the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism in 2020, and the People's Committee of Long An province for many years...

Writer Nguyen Hoi is currently a lieutenant colonel, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Long An Provincial Border Guard and a member of the Vietnam Writers Association. In addition, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper also presented 100 scholarships, worth 100 million VND, from the "Scholarship Program to support ethnic minority and poor students" to ethnic minority and poor students in Can Giuoc and Thanh Hoa districts, Long An province.

Mr. Pham Tan Hoa informed that 2025 is a very important year, a year with many important historical events, a year to "finish" the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress; the year to organize Party Congresses at all levels, term 2025 - 2030; especially the year to implement the "dual goal" of both streamlining the apparatus and exceeding the plans, targets and political tasks set.
