(NLDO) - A man was sad about family matters and wanted to commit suicide by jumping off Da Vien bridge, but was discovered by the police, restrained and taken to a safe place.
On March 2, Phuong Duc Ward Police - Hue City said they had just successfully intervened to save a man who intended to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge.
Police and security forces of Phuong Duc ward controlled and brought the man who intended to commit suicide inside.
The incident occurred on the evening of March 1 at Da Vien bridge, Phuong Duc ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city. At that time, the working group of Phuong Duc ward police and the security force of the grassroots were patrolling to ensure security and order in Phuong Duc ward.
Police encouraged the man who intended to commit suicide.
At around 10:20 p.m. the same day, at Da Vien Bridge, the authorities discovered a man in a white coat standing on the outer edge of the bridge railing, looking absent-minded, attracting the attention of many passersby. Suspecting that this man intended to commit suicide by jumping off the bridge, the police and security forces quickly approached from behind, restrained the man and brought him inside the bridge to ensure safety.
The man was then taken to Phuong Duc Ward Police Station.
According to the Phuong Duc Ward Police, a young man named HBL (born in 1991; residing in Gia Hoi Ward, Phu Xuan District, Hue City), intended to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge due to family problems. The authorities proceeded to hand over the young man to his family.
