Reason for hundred billion dong road in Ba Ria

TPO – The project of the road north of Ba Ria Hospital is invested by the People's Committee of Ba Ria City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with a total investment of 110 billion VND. The project started in December 2021 but has not been completed yet due to land acquisition problems.

On August 4, Mr. Tran Thanh Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, said that the local government will enforce land acquisition to speed up the progress of the road project north of Ba Ria Hospital, through Long Tam Ward, Ba Ria City.

The project has been approved by the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province under the decision dated October 31, 2016. The People's Committee of Ba Ria city has issued administrative documents on land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement plans in accordance with the procedures prescribed by law for households whose land is acquired to implement the project. The total area of land to be acquired for the project is more than 21,853 m2. The total number of affected households is 11 cases.

Mr. Dung affirmed that the People's Committee of Ba Ria City has approved all compensation and support plans for 11 cases affected by the project in accordance with the correct procedures; resolved support policies for households whose assets on the recovered land were cleared in accordance with regulations, creating favorable conditions for households in the area of site clearance to stabilize their lives. Support policies ensure the rights and legitimate interests of affected households.

Up to now, 10 cases have complied with the handover of the site, while 1 household with an area of over 1,173 m2 has not yet been handed over. In order to have the site to complete the project, the People's Committee of Ba Ria City has established a Mobilization Team, many times meeting, dialogue, propagandizing, and mobilizing the above household to comply with the handover of the site for construction.

However, up to now, the above households still do not cooperate, do not comply and request other benefits, such as complaints demanding to enjoy benefits outside of the State's prescribed policies, review of compensation policies...

To completely resolve the land acquisition and handover of construction sites on schedule, the People's Committee of Ba Ria City has issued a decision to enforce land acquisition for Ms. Duong Thi Bi's household (Hamlet Bac 1, Hoa Long Commune, Ba Ria City).

The decision on enforcement has been delivered to the household and publicly posted. At the same time, the People's Committee of Ba Ria City has also issued a decision to establish a Land Acquisition Enforcement Board to implement the project; continue to direct the Mobilization Team to propagate and persuade Ms. Bi's household to comply with the handover of the site.

Currently, the People's Committee of Ba Ria City is also planning to enforce land recovery to implement the project according to regulations.
