The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has made specific forecasts on rainfall from August to December 2023 in regions nationwide. Specifically, in the Northern region, from August to September 2023, total rainfall in mountainous areas will generally be 5-10% lower than the average of many years. The midland region will be approximately at the average of many years. The plain and coastal areas will be approximately 5-15% higher than the average of many years in the same period. In the context of the ongoing storm season, most recently, storm No. 1, although it did not make landfall in our country, its influence covered the entire North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, meteorological experts said that people and authorities at all levels need to proactively respond to possible natural disasters to minimize damage to people and property, the environment and socio-economic activities.
