The planning of Binh Thuan province approved by the Prime Minister will have 17 urban areas. In addition to Phan Thiet city , which is a type II urban area, by 2025 La Gi town will be a type III city, and the towns of Phan Ri Cua, Lien Huong (Tuy Phong district) and Vo Xu (Duc Linh district) will become type IV urban areas. In addition, 11 districts and towns (Vinh Tan, Cho Lau, Luong Son, Ma Lam, Thuan Nam, Tan Nghia, Tan Minh, Son My, Lac Tanh, Duc Tai and Phu Quy island district) will be type V urban areas.

In particular, Phan Thiet city will be expanded to Phu Long town, part of Ham Liem and Ham Hiep communes , Ham Thuan Bac district and Ham My commune , Ham Thuan Nam district .

Looking back in the period of 2021 - 2023, Binh Thuan province has had many potential investors coming to Binh Thuan. During this period, the province has approved investment in 82 non-budget investment projects with a total registered capital of 50,734.56 billion VND. Including 2 large projects such as: Son My 2 Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project with a total investment of about 1,717 billion VND and Son My LNG Port Warehouse project with a total investment of 1.34 billion USD. Especially in 2023, the economic scale of Binh Thuan province will reach more than 109 trillion VND , the growth rate will reach 8.1%, ranking 4th in the South Central Coast region and 14th in the country , GRDP per capita will reach 86.66 million VND/person . In 2023, the province issued investment approval decisions for 35 projects, with a total registered capital of VND 35,562.4 billion.

In the past time, with the attention and support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Government Office and central ministries and branches, the Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been completed and approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1701/QD-TTg dated December 27 , 2023. The approved provincial planning is the basis, premise, and important driving force in the process of socio-economic development, aiming at the goal of Binh Thuan becoming a dynamic, fast-growing and sustainable province , strong, rich from the sea, with a per capita income (GRDP) higher than the average of the region and the whole country , becoming a national and international sea resort tourism center , one of the green energy centers of the country, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, fulfilling the commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 , aiming to form one of the centers Training and developing regional and national technology. Ensuring national defense, security and sovereignty over seas and islands , strong party organizations and political systems , strengthening the great national unity bloc.

In the coming time, the province will continue to synchronously complete mechanisms and policies for socio-economic development, improve the investment and business environment, take people and businesses as the center of service , develop human resources, especially high-quality human resources, attract, employ and reward talents to work in Binh Thuan . Mobilize, use effectively and economically all resources, create development breakthroughs through building a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system , prioritize investment in key projects, have spillover effects, have the ability to connect inter-regions and inter-provinces in terms of transport infrastructure, economic zones, industrial parks, urban infrastructure adapting to climate change.
