Long An promotes investment cooperation in Japan

Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee and Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture at the "Joint Statement Signing Ceremony between Long An Province and Ibaraki Prefecture" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations

This is an important activity in the province's 2025 Investment Promotion Program, focusing on investment attraction, high-tech agricultural development and local connectivity, promising to open up many strategic cooperation opportunities between Long An and Japanese partners.

The delegation will carry out many important programs in Japan with a busy working schedule, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation opportunities with Japanese partners in many fields.

During the working trip, the delegation will pay a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan and the Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture. In addition, the delegation will carry out many investment promotion activities, work directly with leading agencies, organizations, associations and corporations in Japan such as: Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO); Vietnam - Ibaraki Friendship Association and Ibaraki Prefecture Agricultural Association. In addition, the delegation will conduct field surveys of typical high-tech agricultural models in Ibaraki, and research the application of advanced technologies in agricultural production in Long An. Through meetings, exchanges and field surveys, the delegation hopes to learn many valuable experiences, thereby applying them to the socio-economic development of the province.

The highlight of this working trip is the "Long An - Japan Trade and Investment Promotion Program 2025", organized by the Long An Provincial People's Committee in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in Tokyo on March 31, 2025. This is not only a large-scale investment promotion event but also a strategic connection forum between Long An and leading Japanese enterprises and corporations. The program will provide a comprehensive picture of the attractive investment environment, development potential and cooperation opportunities in Long An. With the participation of many diplomatic agencies, organizations in Japan, strategic investors and Japanese enterprises, the event promises to create many important steps forward, opening up new cooperation opportunities, promoting investment capital flows into the province, contributing to making Long An a leading destination for Japanese enterprises in Vietnam.

Currently, Long An has received about 1,512 FDI projects with a total registered capital of over 14.3 billion USD. Of which, Japanese investors have about 161 projects with a registered investment capital of over 1.2 billion USD, ranking 4th in terms of the number of projects and investment capital out of a total of 40 countries and territories investing in the province.

The investment promotion program in Japan is an important activity to kick off the series of investment promotion events in 2025 of Long An province, aiming to consolidate and tighten economic and trade cooperation, connecting the locality with Japanese partners. The business trip is expected to attract more Japanese investors to explore the market, expand cooperation in the fields of high technology, supporting industry, investment in developing transport infrastructure, especially high-tech agriculture with modern, sustainable production models, applying advanced technology to improve productivity and quality of agricultural products.
