In Long An province on March 28, the Emulation Cluster of the Southwest provinces held a conference to summarize the implementation of the emulation covenant in 2024.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Board, along with leaders of 12 provinces in the cluster. On Long An province's side, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Ut - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces; Mr. Mai Van Nhieu - Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Tan Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that the achievements of the Emulation Cluster of 12 Southwestern provinces were the result of solidarity and cooperation for mutual development. Therefore, maintaining the emulation covenant of the Cluster is an opportunity to share experiences, replicate effective models, improve the quality of emulation and expand regional cooperation.
In 2024, in the context of intertwined difficulties and challenges, the provinces of the Southwest Cluster have made a breakthrough, leaving their mark with outstanding results. Notably, the total budget revenue reached an impressive figure of nearly 115,000 billion VND, of which Long An, Kien Giang, and Tien Giang were bright spots. Export turnover reached more than 25.7 billion USD, demonstrating the economic strength of the region.
In particular, the disbursement rate of public investment capital reached nearly 120%, demonstrating the determination and efficiency in implementing projects. In addition, the provinces also effectively maintained 6 emulation movements launched by the Central Government, while firmly consolidating the political system and strongly developing cultural, sports and tourism activities.
The conference also devoted a lot of time for delegates in the cluster to participate in giving speeches and discussions on issues related to emulation movements in Party building, government, socio-economic development, and reward work in localities.,... Through the emulation scoring results of the Southwest cluster in 2024, Long An province ranked first with more than 951.67 points, followed by Tien Giang and Kien Giang. Thereby, the Cluster unanimously honored Long An and Tien Giang provinces to receive the Government's emulation flag; at the same time, proposed to award the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Kien Giang and Hau Giang provinces.
At the end of the conference, the 2024 Emulation Cluster Leader of Long An province awarded the rotating flag to the 2025 Cluster Leader of Ben Tre province and 2 deputy cluster leaders of Tra Vinh and Bac Lieu.
