(NLDO) - At the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, Vietnam has the presence and presentation of 69 types of equipment and weapons from 77 units.


The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will be held from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi). This exhibition is organized by the Ministry of National Defense on a much larger scale in terms of both area and number of guests compared to the first time in 2022.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will display defense products from 242 domestic and international units and enterprises. Among them are many famous defense units and corporations from countries with advanced and developed defense industries such as Russia, India, Israel, China, the US, etc.

In particular, on this occasion, Vietnam had the presence and presentation of 69 types of equipment and weapons from 77 units, which are products of "self-sufficient defense industry" such as the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), factories Z111, Z113, Z131, Z175, member companies of the General Department of Defense Industry, companies under the Ministry of National Defense...

Creating a highlight right at the entrance to the exhibition are two Scud-B ballistic missiles made by the Soviet Union that are part of the Vietnamese artillery.

A series of army weapons with 152 mm self-propelled artillery systems, T-90S/SK, T-54 main battle tanks; a pair of Scud-B ballistic missile systems; XCB-01 infantry fighting vehicles researched and manufactured by Vietnam; Spyder air defense missile systems or air defense weapons, warning radars developed by Viettel... are a series of military equipment and weapons belonging to the Vietnam People's Army being displayed in the outdoor area of ​​the 2024 International Defense Exhibition.

The SPYDER medium-range air defense system, made by Israel, uses Python-5 heat-seeking missiles and Derby active radar-guided missiles. It is highly responsive and maneuverable, and can detect and destroy targets such as manned and unmanned aircraft (UAVs), helicopters and cruise missiles.

The S-125-2TM "Pechora-2TM" (C125- 2TM) air defense missile system is designed to destroy flying targets in any interference conditions, and can also attack ground and surface targets in some situations.

The РЕДУТ-М coastal missile complex is used to destroy surface ships, means of transport at sea and structures on islands and along the coast. The missile system has a range of up to 300 km with a cruise altitude of 7,000 m; can carry missiles 9.8 m long and weighing over 4 tons. The СПУ-35БЭ self-propelled launcher has a total weight of 21 tons, is 13.75 m long; 2.86 m wide and 3.63 m high. The launch platform is located at an altitude of 1,000 m above sea level.
