In the days leading up to Lunar New Year, in addition to professional work such as fire safety inspections, soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Bac Tu Liem District Police (Hanoi) also have a special activity of visiting and burning incense at the graves of their comrades at Nhon Martyrs Cemetery (Tay Tuu Ward, Bac Tu Liem District).
Firefighters and firefighters lit incense to express their remembrance and condolences for the passing of their comrades who fought side by side.
At the end of the year, all staff are present to ensure fire safety, ready to fight fires and rescue.
During the Tet Giap Thin duty, the fire police officers of Bac Tu Liem district organized the wrapping of Chung cakes, this is an annual activity of the unit to strengthen the affection of officers and soldiers when away from home.
From early morning, some people wash seaweed leaves, clean rice, others prepare beans and meat. This year, the unit wrapped a total of 150 banh chung. Banh chung is not only served to the combat force at the unit, but also to send home as gifts to relatives.
Lieutenant Colonel Khuc Nguyen Khanh, Deputy Captain of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Bac Tu Liem District, shared: "The unit's annual activity of making banh chung every Tet holiday allows soldiers staying at the unit to enjoy the warm Tet atmosphere and at the same time connect members together."
Officers and soldiers were on duty while gathering to wrap Chung cakes to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
Volunteer soldier Chu Huu Vuong (born in 1998) said: "This is the second year I have participated in the banh chung wrapping activity at the unit. The uncles and brothers are very affectionate, I feel like I am celebrating Tet with my family."
Along with looking after the banh chung, every night the soldiers still have to be on duty and check fire safety at facilities in the area.
Thanks to the unit's activities, some young firefighters had their first Tet away from home in a warm, family atmosphere.
Besides being ready for any situation, the whole unit gathered around a pot of banh chung to warm the camaraderie.
