On the evening of December 10, at the Lao National Cultural Palace in Vientiane, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to organize the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos 2024 with the theme "Colors of Vietnamese culture, Vietnam-Laos friendship".

Attending the event were Mr. Khamphan Phommathat, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Commission, and State Inspector General of Laos; Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Lao Minister of Technology and Communications, President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association; Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Vansy KouaMoua. Also attending were representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos; representatives of relevant units of Vietnam and Laos; representatives of the Vietnamese community in Laos; representatives of the Vietnamese community in the northeastern provinces of Thailand and a large number of Lao people.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong said that the Vietnam Cultural Week in Laos in 2024 is not only a regular, symbolic activity, but also demonstrates Vietnam's strong commitment to the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong hopes that through the traditional singing, dancing and music program performed by Vietnamese artists, Vietnamese and Lao audiences and international friends will have the opportunity to better understand Vietnamese culture. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam and Laos to review the tradition of friendship between the two Parties, States and peoples, and look forward to a future of increasingly strong and effective cooperation.

According to Mr. Vansy KouaMoua, Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, this activity demonstrates the tradition of close friendship between the two countries, organized and implemented according to the Laos-Vietnam cultural, artistic and tourism cooperation plan for the period 2021-2025. At the event, the Vietnamese Art Troupe and students of Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese Bilingual School performed unique art performances imbued with cultural identity, praising President Ho Chi Minh and the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos, praising the love for the country and people.

Using traditional Vietnamese musical instruments such as flutes and monochords, the artists brought the audience many emotions about the regions and many scenic spots of the beautiful and hospitable country of Vietnam.
