Phu Tho is the land of origin with hundreds of traditional festivals held in the Spring. Traditional festivals have great attraction for tourists inside and outside the province. In the first days of Spring At Ty 2025, there were more than 300 thousand visitors coming to visit historical sites and participate in traditional festivals, contributing significantly to promoting the development of tourism in the province.

In January, many festivals are held in all localities of the province such as: Thanh Son district has Khoang communal house festival (Huong Can commune), Thach Khoan communal house festival (Thach Khoan commune), Thu Rong communal house festival (Yen Lang commune); Yen Lap district has the Muong people's forest opening festival; Ha Hoa district has Au Co Mau Temple festival, Chu Hung Temple festival; Lam Thao district has Tro Tram festival, Princess girl procession festival; Thanh Thuy district has Lang Suong temple festival; Thanh Ba district has Du Yen temple festival; Viet Tri city has Van Luong temple festival (flower snatching, net throwing festival), Mo Chu Ha traditional village festival... Many festivals have become National Intangible Cultural Heritage such as the wrestling festival at Vinh Mo communal house, Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district held on January 7 every year...
Some traditional cultural festivals are gradually becoming tourism products for visitors to learn, explore and experience cultural activities such as: human chess, tea swing, blindfolded duck catching, tug of war, stick pushing, throwing shuttlecock, participating in water procession, pounding rice cake... Each festival has its own nuances and values, local people and tourists participate together, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere to start a new year with the hope of good crops, effective production, and a more prosperous life for the people. For traditional festivals of the Muong people, there are also performances of stam duong, gong performance, senh tien dance, earth drum, swing drum, Vi Rang singing... Through traditional cultural festivals, it contributes to promoting the image of the homeland, people and rich, diverse and attractive cuisine of the province, while raising awareness and responsibility of people in preserving the cultural values of the nation and the locality; Raise awareness of civilized lifestyle in festivals and promote cultural heritage of the Ancestral Land of the people, to make the Spring festival season more meaningful.
Going to the Au Co Temple on the main festival day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nhung in Co Nhue, Hanoi said: Every year, my family goes to the Mau Temple and Hung Temple with the wish that in the new year, the whole family will be healthy and peaceful. Participating in the festival, we learn about the worship of the Mother Goddess and the important female sacrifice ritual of the Au Co Temple Festival. Coming here, not only can we visit and worship, I see that this year, there are many beautiful check-in spots for tourists, we can save beautiful images of Tet.
With diverse and rich tourism products such as: Cultural tourism; spiritual tourism; eco-tourism, resort tourism; community tourism... along with unique features, imbued with the cultural identity of the Ancestral Land, tourism products are more abundant, attracting tourists to learn, explore and experience. When tourists come to the festival, they will have some essential needs such as travel, accommodation, relaxation, eating, shopping for local specialties, especially OCOP products. From the invaluable "resources" from traditional festivals associated with tourism development, it has been contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
