Railway industry improves passenger service quality during April 30 and May 1 holidays

The luxury train has just been put into operation by ChaPa Tourism Joint Stock Company.

Since the beginning of April this year, ChaPa Tourism Joint Stock Company has cooperated with the railway industry to launch a new product, high-quality train cars, targeting high-end customers. The train cars are painted in bright colors, decorated in a stylized way inspired by the patterns on traditional costumes of ethnic groups in Lao Cai. The interior of the train cars is designed in a modern and luxurious style, with spacious compartments, one bed or two beds, suitable for passengers who want private space.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Hang, Director of ChaPa Tourism Joint Stock Company, said: We are still in the process of testing and measuring the capacity of passenger service usage, initial signals show that the product is favored by many passengers, especially foreign tourists. Currently, the railway industry is maintaining two pairs of trains running on the Lao Cai - Hanoi route and vice versa, namely SP3/SP4 and SP7/SP8. According to Lao Cai Railway Transport Station, to serve the increased number of passengers during the upcoming holidays, the railway industry has prepared a plan to add additional spare train cars on peak days, and at the same time coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure security and safety for passengers during the journey as well as at the station.

Ms. Do Thi Gam, Head of Lao Cai Railway Transport Station, said: According to the number of tickets booked during the holiday updated on the railway system up to this point, the two pairs of trains currently in operation can fully meet the needs of passengers. However, the railway industry still has a backup plan to prepare options in case the number of passengers increases sharply.

In order to attract more passengers, the railway industry has recently made efforts to improve the quality of service to bring the best experience to passengers. Train cars are clean, fully equipped with modern amenities such as beds, spacious seats, air conditioning and lighting systems. Meals on the train are carefully prepared, ensuring food hygiene and safety, helping passengers feel comfortable throughout the journey.

Win Tun, a tourist from Myanmar, said that taking the train allows him to explore the natural scenery and people's lives along the route from the highlands of Lao Cai to the capital Hanoi. This is truly an interesting experience.

According to Lao Cai Railway Transport Station, since the beginning of the year, Lao Cai station has received 366 passenger trains, an increase of 175% over the same period; the number of passengers boarding the train at Lao Cai station is 32,723 people, an increase of 145% over the same period; the number of passengers getting off the train is 52,153 people, an increase of 144% over the same period.

With the upgrade of infrastructure, the travel speed on the Hanoi - Lao Cai route has been significantly improved compared to before, helping passengers shorten their travel time. This not only brings convenience but also better meets the travel needs of people and tourists during the holidays.
