With the theme "Supporting businesses to overcome challenges and improve competitiveness", the 2025 Business Forum is organized to create opportunities for connection, exchange and propose solutions to improve competitiveness for businesses in the new situation.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Hoang Quang Phong said that this year's annual Business Forum took place in the context of many fluctuations in the world, the business community in general still faced many difficulties and challenges. Production and business activities of the business sector were still affected by many adverse impacts of objective circumstances, geopolitical conflicts, and disruptions in supply chains and input materials.

Therefore, to be able to make a breakthrough in 2025, reforming economic institutions, improving the business environment, promoting and supporting enterprises will be the key. Not only increasing the capital absorption capacity of enterprises, developing and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises, especially the private economic sector, to gradually master core technology and penetrate deeper into the global value chain is an important requirement in the coming time.

In fact, in recent times, to support businesses to recover and promote growth, the Party, State and Government have made many decisions to develop businesses, aiming to ensure the national growth target of 8% or more by 2025. However, in a volatile world, businesses also need more support from authorities at all levels.

The tourism industry effectively implements recovery solutions, a bright spot in overall socio-economic development.

Regarding the tourism sector, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said that although the global economic situation is still facing many difficulties and fluctuations, the Vietnamese tourism industry has recorded many positive results in the first 3 months of 2025. According to the General Statistics Office, the total number of international visitors in the first quarter reached over 6 million, an increase of 29.6% over the same period in 2024. Domestic tourism also achieved remarkable results, serving 35.5 million visitors. Tourism is considered one of the bright spots in the country's socio-economic picture.

Director Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasized that to achieve this result, the tourism industry has received close attention and direction from the leaders of the Party, National Assembly, Government, and Prime Minister in shaping and issuing policies to remove barriers and difficulties, creating favorable conditions for the tourism industry to develop quickly and sustainably.

In addition, the tourism industry also received coordination and support from relevant departments, ministries, branches and localities in jointly removing institutional difficulties and obstacles, notably policies on visa exemption and electronic visa issuance... These are very important levers for tourism to recover quickly after the pandemic.

The Director said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is focusing on implementing solutions to realize Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP of the Government on key tasks and solutions to accelerate recovery and develop tourism effectively and sustainably ; Directive No. 08/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time ; Telegram No. 34/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister on promoting tourism development, ensuring double-digit economic growth .

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also made great efforts in promoting, advertising and boosting communications on domestic and international digital platforms. Innovating promotion methods, linking with key partners to create effectiveness and strong media appeal. Notably, in the promotion activities, the Prime Minister has twice directly attended events promoting Vietnamese tourism abroad.

“I highly appreciate the dynamism and creativity of tourism businesses in renewing products and improving service quality, creating many new products after the Covid-19 pandemic, meeting the changing needs of tourists such as culinary tourism, agricultural tourism, health care tourism, sports tourism and MICE tourism... This has created a new driving force to attract international tourists to Vietnam,” the Director emphasized.

Businesses need to play a pioneering role in improving the competitiveness of Vietnam Tourism.

To achieve the goal of welcoming international and domestic visitors in 2025, the Director believes that the pioneering and dynamic role of the business community is indispensable. Therefore, the Director suggests that businesses need to continue to innovate and be creative in developing high-quality tourism products, associated with the cultural identity, history, cuisine, craft villages and natural resources of each locality. At the same time, it is necessary to diversify product types to serve many customer segments such as: eco-tourism, community tourism, health care tourism, adventure sports tourism, MICE...

Promote digital transformation in management and business, thereby helping businesses optimize costs, improve operational efficiency, and bring convenient and modern service experiences to tourists. In particular, businesses need to proactively connect to the national and local digital tourism ecosystem, thereby sharing data, increasing market access and effectively coordinating in tourism promotion and advertising. This is also an important factor in managing smart destinations, promoting regional connectivity, and creating a sustainable value chain for the tourism industry in the digital age.

Human resources are the key factor determining the service quality and competitiveness of tourism businesses. In addition to new training, it is necessary to focus on retraining and regular training to update knowledge and skills according to the development trends of the market and technology.

The Director also said that businesses need to strengthen their connections and coordination with each other in the service supply chain - including travel, accommodation, transportation, cuisine, attractions, etc. to jointly build comprehensive, synchronous, high-quality tourism products that are highly competitive in the domestic and international markets.

In addition, the Director also noted the need to focus on sustainable and responsible development. Businesses need to clearly identify: tourism development is not only an economic activity but also closely linked to social responsibility, environmental protection and cultural value preservation. The organization of tourism activities needs to ensure harmony between three pillars: environment, culture and local community.
