Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh chaired the press conference. Co-chairs included Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Dinh Thi Mai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang; Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy.

The 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) is a particularly important political event of national scale. The event is organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, the following key activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City:

The National Celebration Program will be held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025 on Le Duan Street, District 1 and some central streets of Ho Chi Minh City.

The parade program chaired by the Ministry of National Defense includes: 04 Parade blocks of the Honor Block; 36 parade blocks; 12 parade blocks. There are expected to be parade blocks of Laos and Cambodia in the Celebration.

The program is broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local Radio and Television Stations.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh delivered the opening speech at the press conference.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City held an incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs at 8:00 a.m. on April 29, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery, City Cemetery (Lac Canh), Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, Cu Chi District Martyrs' Cemetery, Ho Chi Minh City Policy Cemetery (Cu Chi District); National Historical Site Nga Ba Giong (Hoc Mon District).

The festival "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" is held from April 19 to April 30, 2025. The highlight is the 3D Mapping art performance at the facade of the City People's Committee headquarters, combining light, sound and symphony - choral music.

In particular, on the night of April 19, 2,000 drones performed, combined with artistic fireworks to light up the city's sky, bringing a spectacular experience to the audience.

Film exhibition "Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975", with 300 precious documentary photos, community screening on the night of April 27 and 28 at Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke stage.

The special art program "National Reunification Day" was held and broadcast live nationwide at the Reunification Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, on the evening of April 30, 2025.

Outdoor art program "The Country is Full of Joy" on April 20, 2025 at Thong Nhat Hall.

Special concert program with the theme "Peace Symphony" on the evening of April 21, 2025 at the City Theater.

National television bridge "Forever the Triumphal Song" on April 27, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh City bridge point.

A special art program chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City organized on April 29, 2025, in front of Thong Nhat Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The brass band performance combined with horseback riding techniques hosted by the Ministry of Public Security is scheduled to take place on April 30, 2025 at Le Loi Street and Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

To facilitate international press agencies, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a "Press Week" from April 25 to May 1, 2025 for foreign reporters who are war correspondents; reporters from countries that supported Vietnam during the war; and overseas reporters to show gratitude for their contributions and support for Vietnam during the war.

In addition, the City also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism to organize 3 typical tours for reporters to work in the City: "Legend of the heroic commandos of Sac Forest"; "Cu Chi, the land of steel and bronze: underground tunnels"; "From Mau Than to Xuan Dai Thang". Expected time: April 24, 25, 26, 2025.

At the same time, it is planned to organize an intimate party for reporters from all over the country working in Ho Chi Minh City at the location: Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, time: 11:30 on April 28, 2025.

In addition, the City has directed departments, localities, and units to organize a peak communication campaign for the activities of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, in 2 phases (phase 1: from April 7, 2025 - April 25, 2025; phase 2: from April 26, 2025 - May 2, 2025) to create a good spreading effect to a large number of people.
